My First Look At Fall Fashion From Kohl’s

There’s no surer sign that autumn is on the way than cooler mornings and a few leaves turning. It’ll be a few weeks before we see that in my neck of the woods, but I know it’s coming, so I’m starting to get ready. Let’s take a first look at fall fashion from Kohl’s today with some easy pieces your wallet will love.

Cozy Flannel

There’s nothing cozier on a crisp fall morning than a cuddly flannel shirt. They’re often in bright or deep plaid colors, so I was happy to find this Croft & Barrow plaid flannel in soft shades of ivory, pink and beige. It also comes in a soft blue/orange combo and classic black/red Buffalo check in petite sizes. I’m wearing a large petite because I prefer them roomier than snug.

This cotton flannel button-down shirt is a twill fabric with two shirt chest pockets. I was thrilled to find the pocket pattern, lines up perfectly with the shirt pattern! I’ve come to really appreciate that kind of quality construction from Croft and Barrow. It’s also available in a regular length option here in nine colors, sizes XS-XL. The website says it’s selling out fast, so I’m not the only one in the mood for fall fashion from Kohl’s.

I love to partner with Kohl’s because women all have varying budgets, and great style is available at all price points. Kohl’s carries an exclusive selection of quality merchandise from brands you know and trust. They’re famous for their amazing sales and deals that save you money on everything from women’s fashion to elevated home decor.

Comfy Jeans

I paired my shirt with these Lee high-rise Mom jeans in a washed black to keep the whole look soft. In person, they look deep gray, which is a color combo I particularly love. These jeans are a cotton/polyester/elastane combo with five-pocket styling and a flattering high-rise which helps hold everything in and control any muffin top.

They also come in four other washes, sizes 4-18, in a length they call average. The 28 1/2″ inseam is a hair too long on me with booties, so I folded the bottom under. With ballet flats, sneakers, or loafers, I could likely wear them as is.

Great Booties

To keep the whole palette soft, I chose these Lifestride ankle booties in Doe. It’s one of my favorite neutrals for any time of year. It’s a neutral taupe shade that will coordinate with so many things this fall. They’re also available in toffee, olive, chocolate, and black in sizes 5-11, regular and wide widths. My foot is medium/wide, so I often choose the wide width for colder weather when I want to wear socks in them.

Lightweight Pullover

Oh, and the lightweight pullover I’ve been wearing around my shoulders? It’s another great piece from Croft & Barrow. This v-neck pullover comes in sixteen colors and is light enough to wear now or later. I am wearing the Ivory heather, which appears to pick up the colors of my flannel.

I’m curious about how you will style those booties in cooler weather. It appears you have no socks now. But would you have your socks showing in winter?

    1. If I lived in a cold climate I would, and wear a wider leg to cover the top. I live in northern CA so I’ll probably use no show socks

  2. Thank you for the finds at Kohls! I got the pink plaid flannel shirt in LP, a pink tee, 3 pairs of jeans in sable brown, stone wood, and tan in Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda fit which fits me perfect in 12 short! I am to happy! Now for cooler temperatures!

    1. Amazing. You did well!

  3. Great post! Your combinations are always inspirational!

I ordered the flannel shirt in the pink/cream color. I had also been looking for a cardigan in oatmeal, which they have in stock, so that went on my order as well! Here’s hoping we get some fall weather soon so I can wear them! I am so tired of 100 degree plus temps here in San Antonio, Texas.

    1. I kope it cools off soon for you. I am so ready for fall too.

  4. So nice to see the soft colors. I love fall colors, just not on me! The booties are fabulous, will have to try them on. And I love the soft washed black jeans too.
Thank you for the cool colors!

    1. I’ll be sharing more as I find it!

  5. It’s nice to see clothes for fall in colors for those of us who don’t suit or like dark colors. I know when the new fall clothing has arrived because everything in the mall turns black. Not for me.

As a person with slim feet, thicker socks in fall mean that I can wear B-width boots. Yay!

Today it’s definitely cooler. I welcome the rain and the break from the heat. Fall is in the air. Enjoy!

  6. Closest Kohl’s is about a 4 hour drive across the USA Border for me but great finds for sure Jennifer considering the prices/quality. (Also can’t help but noticing that the pattern on the plaid shirt matches. ) -Brenda-

    1. Yes, it’s a great quality.

  7. Cute! I have a Croft and Barrow flannel from last year and I love that it barely shrunk, sleeves still the same length! Great quality!

    1. Their quality is wonderful. I agree!

      1. I had no idea that Kohls was known for all these things, one being quality. Whenever I go in one it’s always clean and well laid out. I will have to investigate!

  8. Love all the outfits today. Kohl’s is a great store and luckily we have one here in Central Florida 20 minutes from my home. I will still try to find a few things to wear here in the sweltering Florida heat for the fall and winter months.

  9. I’m disappointed that Kohl’s doesn’t ship to Canada but they are planning on it in the future. 😢

    1. Hopefully, they will soon!

  10. Thank you, Jennifer!

I see you are still in Vancouver. I used to work at Thurlow and Georgia…recognize a lot of the scenery. I love the shirt, sweater and gray jeans you have on. I’ll have to hop over the border and check out Kohl’s when I go down for my monthly shopping in the states. It’s a shame we lost Nordstrom and they’re not currently shipping to Canada. We’re limited to so few nice stores now.

    1. Yes, we’re here a tiny bit longer. There’s a Kohl’s quite close to the border.

  12. Cute outfits. I really have good luck with the croft and barrow line. Jennifer, what size are you wearing in the V neck sweater ?

    1. I’m wearing a M but could have worn the large to have it more slouchy.

  13. When I can get a pretty V Neck sweater that fits well, I’m all in! Also like the idea that Sephora is found in our Kohls!

    1. Yes! One stop shopping.

  14. I love that Kohl’s has a petite section. So many stores have quit carrying them. I’m looking forward to fall. We have had really warm temps and now dealing with fires. Here in the NW we need rain!

    1. I’m glad they do too. It’s so much easier to shop when things are kept in one area. Praying for rain!!

Good morning Jennifer, I am super excited for cooler, crisp weather, it is so refreshing! I’m packing for our cruise to the Barcelona and then on to France & Italy returning Sept 2nd.
I will be making the change over of my clothing slowly. I really like the jeans you featured today they look soft & cozy.
    Have a super weekend!

    1. Your trip sounds amazing!! Have a fabulous time, Pat
