Top Fall Home Decor Ideas and Must-Have Items for a Cozy Home

Amber Embossed Glass Tea Cups

There’s nothing I love more than cozying up with a hot cup of tea or coffee and a book on a chilly fall day. These amber tea cups are pretty enough to display on your coffee bar or countertop. I also liked this set of botanical ones.

LED Flameless Candles

flameless candles from amazon

There’s something so cozy about the glow of a flickering candle. If you’re like me and worried that you’re going to forget to blow your candles out before leaving the house or falling asleep, there are safe alternatives like these LED flameless candles. I also love that you can snuggle these into bookshelves and other cozy spots where it’s just not safe to have an open flame.

Candle Warmer Lamp

I know many of you love burning candles for the fragrance, but this warming lamp offers a safer alternative. It evenly heats your favorite candle without the hazard of an open flame. Try it with this “White Pumpkin” candle if you’re in the market for a new fall fragrance.

Call It Home: The Details That Matter Coffee Table Book

call ir home book from amazon

Not only does this rich brown book look stunning on a coffee table or bookshelf, but the pages are packed with stunning home inspiration and tips from interior designer Amber Lewis. Her cozy California-inspired style has me itching to rearrange some of my own rooms.

Table Runner

If your dining room table could use a fall refresh, swapping in a new table runner is an easy update. Don’t feel limited to the usual oranges and browns—this blue works beautifully year-round.

Hand-Blown Crackle Glass Pumpkin

I love finding unique, tasteful pieces to add to our home, and this hand-blown glass pumpkin fits the bill perfectly. It comes in several different color options and would look great sitting on a stack of books on your nightstand or coffee table.

Faux Fall Florals

With my busy travel schedule and not-so-green thumb, I stick to decorating with faux greenery around the house. When fall comes around, I love swapping them out for autumn-toned foliage and flowers like these.

Throw Pillows

I find it totally unnecessary and wasteful to change out your throw pillows every season and holiday. Plus, the off-season pillow storage is a nightmare! I find it smarter to have a great pair of quality inserts and just switch out my pillow covers when I’d like a change. We’re seeing lots of green in both fashion and home decor for the latter half of the year, but I also like this set of browns/beiges.

Anchor Glass Pumpkin Candy Jar

This candy jar is a fun and festive way to keep your favorite treats on display. It’s the perfect size for an entryway table, coffee table, or office desk.

Welcome Door Mat

A new welcome mat is an inexpensive way to freshen up your front porch or stoop. This is a cheery one you can put out at the end of summer and leave until you choose to put out Christmas or other holiday decor. You can even layer it over a larger patterned outdoor rug, like this one, for a more dimensional look.

Fall Wreath

A seasonal wreath is a great way to both improve your curb appeal and give your guests a cozy welcome into your home. Pro tip: Grab a wreath storage bag so you can keep your wreaths in tip-top shape in the attic, basement, or garage when not in use.

Waterproof Battery Powered Candle Lanterns, Set of 2

Speaking of outdoor spaces, these waterproof lanterns are a great addition anywhere on your porch or patio where you need a little ambiance. Try them on either side of your welcome mat, as a centerpiece on your patio table, or hanging from a hook along your walkway.

Antique Brass Iron Taper Candle Holder

This set of brass candlesticks is versatile enough to be placed anywhere—from the top of your fireplace or the center of your dining table to a spot on your bookshelf. I would pair them with these olive green taper candles or these ivory flameless ones.

Throw Blanket

Draping a throw blanket across your chair, couch, or bed is an easy and affordable way to create an inviting, cozy space and update for the season. This one has a subtle tartan print.

NEST Reed Diffuser in Hearth

This packs a great fragrant punch and comes in several different scents. I always chose a woodsy scent for fall, which gets me in a cozy mood. Reed diffusers are a great alternative to scented candles, and I love that this brand is cruelty-free.

Mercury Glass Pumpkins

I’ve been collecting vintage mercury glass for years. I love these little battery-operated LED light-up pumpkins to add some atmosphere in the evening. I’d add them to kitchen counters, guest bath counters, displays on a mantle or bookshelf, or along the dining room table.

  1. Ohhh…I love these ideas! They really put you in the mood for fall decorating.
I’m with you about the pillow inserts! Thanks for the reminder, because I’m still struggling with what you say about off-season pillow storage. With limited storage space, it’s a nightmare!
