Athleisure Favorites From Nordstrom
A big thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post.
I recently attended a wellness retreat and knew I didn’t want to spend my days in sweats or workout gear, so I packed street-type athleisure wear that could do double duty for my activities. While shopping for my trip, I discovered Nordstrom has everything you need to feel confident and comfortable, from high-performance sweats to breathable pullovers. I’m sharing a few of my favorite athleisure pieces from Nordstrom that I’ve been living in reaching for more than I should!

I wore this Zella quilted coat every day of my trip, and it has quickly become my go-to jacket. I went with a size small, which fits me perfectly and still leaves room for me to wear a warm layer underneath. It comes in black or this grey pebble shade, which I love.

The detachable hood kept me warm on chilly mornings, and I could cinch in the cord to keep my ears warm. I love the texture of the quilted design, and the zip pockets were super convenient for storing my phone and small items.

Bulky coats can often leave us looking shapeless, so I also appreciate the cinched waistline detail, which gives your silhoutete some shape.

I also packed my VUORI Halo Essential Knit Top, and it was the perfect choice for my daily activities. I paired it with leggings for my yoga classes, and it allowed me to move freely without any restrictions. The fabric is breathable and moisture-wicking, which will keep me cool and dry even during intense workouts.
This fabric is soft and comfortable, making it perfect for both workouts and casual wear. Depending on the temperature and weather conditions, I can wear this top on its own with jeans, layered under a jacket, or over a tank or tee. It also happens to be in one of my favorite shades of cool green. It’s more body-conscious than my Vuori performance tee, so I sized up to a large.

I’m one of those women who feel undressed without a pair of earrings, so I wore these small-scale Jenny Bird hoops most days and every night for dinner. They’re the perfect size and weigh virtually nothing.

These ON Cloud 5 running shoes proved to be the ideal travel companion, effortlessly switching between light workouts and casual wear. When it came to my morning walks, the CloudTec sole provided excellent cushioning and support. Whether I was strolling through the resort or exploring nature trails, the Cloud 5 shoes were up to the task. I felt like I was walking on clouds, which is high praise from me (and my bunion)! Since they just slip on with elasticized laces, I was concerned they would not feel stable enough, but they are perfect, and I love them.

These Sweaty Betty Pants are in the softest, suede-like fabric and feel like I’m wearing regular trousers rather than workout pants. Sweaty Betty is known for their soft, luxurious fabric, and I can confirm they lived up to their reputation. Whether I was lounging, exploring, or working out, these pants proved to be a fantastic addition to my travel attire. I found them easy to pack, and they didn’t wrinkle, which was a big plus when living out of a suitcase!
These were too long for me right off the rack, so I took advantage of the free hemming service I get as a member of the Nordy Club, which is free to join here. As a club member, you also earn points for every dollar you spend to use on future purchases.

Nordstrom is my favorite department store for so many reasons, not the least of which is their fabulous selection, great customer service, and free shipping both ways. They also offer BOPUS, ROTUS (reserve online, try on in-store), and curbside pickup.
Have you tried these new athleisure fabrics that feel like suede?

I recently purchased the On Cloud 5 shoe, and I love everything about it! It was comfortable right out of the box, provides good support, and so easy to slip on. I also like the way it looks on my foot – not massively huge like some sneakers. I agree with you about Nordstrom, and when I bought these shoes I had the best experience with their sales associate. I’m actually thinking of purchasing another pair, and I wanted to let you know that there is a light blue one that is on sale right now. Thanks for your always helpful and interesting posts.
I love that they’re not massive looking too and they’re sooo comfy. Just perfect in so many ways. I’ll check out the blue.
I love your Zella jacket. I’ve always had good luck with Zella clothing. I bought tops and jackets for golf and they really hold up. I love Nordstrom too so I’m going to check out these brands.
I always have great luck with Zella too. I love their quality.
I definitely appreciate your post today. That jacket looks perfect for our changing weather down here and it’s on sale now. I’m going to check that out.
Hello , I am a knitter also and wondered how you keep your hands from getting sore due to knitting. Love your Canadian/US travel.
I have to alternate the size of my needles so having multiple projects to switch between helps.
I am a knitter, too and am always looking for small projects to carry with me. A current favorite is Stritchmitch on Ravelry. It is an easy scarf pattern and I have done it in fingering weight for a light wrap scarf. It is long enough to just “hang” under a jacket or sweater, too. I have also knit this scarf in heavier weights to turn it into a shawl. It is nicely shaped.
Thanks for the recommendation!
Hi,
I can’t seem to find this scarf pattern on Ravelry. Can you please type the pattern name again?
Thanks, Ann
I really love that coat. It looks fab on you. Re your knitting, my twin sister is the knitter in our family and she always has a project on the go. I alternate between freestyle embroidery and crochet. Right now I’m learning to embroidery 3 dimensional flowers to decorate the neckline of a formal dress. Please let us see your big knitting project when you get it done. I hope any damage to the house and yard is minor and easily fixed. Stay well and God bless.
Thanks Christine, I will. 3 dimensional flowers sound complicated!
Great looks for you Jennifer, and it’s easy to see why these pieces worked so well during your Wellness retreat and even now—beyond. Love that blue-green!
Unfortunately our local Nordstrom store closed several years ago. Way before the pandemic! And I like to do in store try-ons so miss it very much!
Sadly, this is the way retail is going. Many of our stores have closed too.
