Fall New Arrivals from Talbots, Chico’s, and J.Jill
I’ve been scoping out the latest arrivals from Talbots, Chico’s, and J. Jill, and there are so many great finds to share. From cozy sweaters to stylish outerwear, these collections have everything you need to transition seamlessly into fall. Today, I’m sharing a few of the pieces that caught my eye plus a few that I tried on last week.
Fall New Arrivals from Talbots
Ribbed Crewneck Sweater

This ribbed crewneck is a great base layer to wear under vests and jackets. I’m a big fan of this cool-toned dark teal, that’s very similar to the Aegean color I’ve been loving from Eileen Fisher. You can also get it in black, ivory, pink, and burgundy.
Reversible Vest

This reversible vest is a fun way to switch up your style without adding extra bulk to your closet. One side has a classic quilted texture, while the other side offers a smooth finish in a different color, giving you two distinct styles in one piece. Vests are the perfect piece for transitioning the seasons. This vest comes in three different color combos: deep moss/ivory, ruby red/indigo blue, or burgundy/holly berry.
Quilted Barn Jacket

Chore/barn jackets are making a major comeback this season. Originally designed as tough, functional outerwear for farmers, laborers, and artisans, these jackets are now a stylish staple that I’m seeing at most major retailers. This one has a corduroy collar and a quilted design that’s perfect for throwing over a sweater or pairing with your favorite jeans.
Cashmere V-Neck Sweater

This cashmere v-neck sweater is one of those pieces you can easily dress up for a night out or keep casual for a laid-back day. Leopard is one of the trends I’m seeing the most of online and in stores. This sweater is a lightweight knit so you could easily layer it under a caridgan or blazer.

Short Sleeve Knit Poncho

Ponchos are a terrific, wear-now, wear-later piece you can add to your closet to help bridge the gap between seasons. This short sleeve knit poncho can be layered over a tank for late summer days, then over a button-down or long-sleeve tee as the weather cools down.
V-Neck Sweater Tank

I’m loving the cooler-toned reds popping up this season, like this “Berry Compote” v-neck sweater tank. If you prefer a bit more arm coverage, you can complete the look with the matching cardigan available here.
Zenergy® Stripe Mock Neck Zipper Tee

Casual pieces like this half-zip are a perfect fit for my laid-back lifestyle. I’d pair it with jeans and white sneakers for a day of window shopping or team it with my favorite Athleta pants and Hokas for my daily walk.
Relaxed Stretch Satin Skirt

This satin skirt can be mixed and matched with lots of different tops and accessories for endless outfit options. Plus, this cool-toned red is going to look great for holiday parties this winter.
I also did a short try-on session last week, and here’s what I found…

This no-iron shirt is as classic as can be and something you could wear for years to come. Their no-iron fabrics are second to none in my experience so I can highly recommend this one. The sweater blazer is a classic long-sleeve double-breasted style with tonal buttons that blend into the fabric. These girlfriend jeans have a nice slim legs and come in three pale colors for fall.

This lovely tweed jacket is in shades of olive with beige and cream. The weave is shot through with a lurex thread that you could play up for dressy events or ignore to wear with jeans. These wide-leg Juliet pants are a super comfy ponte knit and intended to be cropped, but are ankle length on me. They also come in black and are selling out fast. The short sleeve sweater has tiny studs all over the front and coordinates with the pants beautifully.

I predict this leopard print bow blouse will quite quickly become a bestseller in this collection. The sales gal brought it out from the back for me, and everyone who saw it, wanted to try it on. The soft, floaty georgette fabric makes it a piece you could dress up or down. I’m wearing it with these cotton wide-leg pants that fit beautifully. They come in 3 colors, in reg, petite, and tall. These are the regular length and I am standing on tip toes so they’re quite long.
Fall New Arrivals from J.Jill
Denim A-Line Maxi Skirt

I’m seeing lots of denim skirts on the menu for the latter half of the year. This denim skirt has a relaxed wash, drapes nicely, and has a back slit for easy movement. Size up in this skirt because reviewers say it runs small. It’s selling out fast so I hope they’ll restock because I’m very tempted by this one in petite.
Ella Bucket Bag

I usually gravitate towards neutral bags, but also love ones in classic colors. Adding a vibrant or quirky bag to your outfit is a great way to inject a little personality and excitement into your look. This bucket bag is in a great teal shade that J. Jill calls “Adriatic”.
Borne Driving Mocs

Driving moccasins are a great, comfy option for fall. These Borne slip-on moccasins are exclusive to J. Jill and a customer favorite that comes in 6 great colors of leather and suede. The cushioned insole and sueded microfiber lining will feel soft on your feet.
Pure Jill Double-Knit Dolman Sleeve Cardi

This Dolman-sleeve cardigan is the most stunning shade of blue! It’s a smooth, substantial double-knit blend that would be great for layering over all your light tops as we head into fall.

I love fall fashion! These are all great looks. This fall I bought a midi denim skirt and a leopard pullover. Still not sure about wide legged pants. I need to drive 35 miles to these shops. Will plan a girlfriend outing to go try on the new pants. That is true about the JJill denim skirt. The waistband was too small, and the hip area was way too big for me.
Good to know. Thanks!
I’ve been craving reds and burgundies this Autumn. The Berry Compote skirt is to die for. I like it paired with the matching sweater. The elongated line might, just might, keep it from looking frumpy on me.
These are all great looks. Really like the shoes and the bucket handbag!
I bought the sweater blazer from Chico’s in the dark red. It’s comfortable and flattering. Also got the sweater vest with side buttons from J Jill. Very happy with both!
