Best New Colorful Arrivals from Chico’s April 2025
I haven’t been into Chicos lately, and I know it’s a reader favorite, so I popped in to try on some of their best new arrivals for April 2025. They’re gearing up for warm weather with a large collection of linen in bright, colorful fabrics.

If you’re new here, a try-on is when I go into a store and style their latest collection so readers can see what’s new and get some ideas for how they can wear it. For size reference, I’m 5’4″, which puts me on the cusp of petite. I have wide shoulders and straight hips. Chico’s sizes are 000(0/XS), (0/2– XS), 0 (4/6 S), 1 (8/10-M), 2 (12-14), L, 3 (16/18-XL), 4 (20/22-XXL. They also carry many garments in petite sizes and some in tall.

When it really heats up, there’s nothing quite as cool and comfortable as a linen dress that leaves room for air to circulate. This pretty green midi dress has delicate beading down the front, and a relaxed a-line shape. I’m wearing the regular, which is 48″ long, and it also comes in petite, which is 45.5″ long. The color is more vibrant in person than it looks on their website. I’m not sure why brands do that with their images, but it’s not helpful for consumers. This dress has roll-tab sleeves that can also be worn full length.

I thought this pleated skirt was so pretty, I tried it on in 2 colors. It’s a lightweight, machine-washable polyester that will travel like a dream. This is the kind of style that you can easily dress up or down, which makes it pretty versatile. I’m wearing the Mellon color, and it comes in 6 other options. It has an elastic smocked waistband with front pockets, which are always handy.
I’ve styled it here with this lightweight cotton voile tunic that has a flower on the front that picks up the color in the skirt. It’s a 30″ long tunic, so it easily ties at the waist with room to move around. This sort of shirt will go with so many things and could even double as a bathing suit cover-up. The white is a soft alabaster, so more delicate looking than a pure, bright white.

This crochet-edged tank top is great on its own or worn as a layering piece. It’s a substantial rib with armholes that are high enough to cover the bra…I always appreciate that :). It’s 95% cotton, 5% spandex, so it should hold its shape but not be overly clingy. I’m wearing the teal, and it also comes in a pretty melon shade.
These pintuck high cuff jeans are so comfy! Their wide leg and stitched pintuck down the front add a fun look to the wide cuffs. It’s a lighter-weight denim made from a cotton-poly blend with Lycra, Lyocell, and spandex, so they’re very soft to the touch.
*Style tip– Here are these same jeans in alabaster, which will give you a more elongated look because the cuff has less contrast.

This linen maxi dress is a chambray-ish color with a button front placket and side seam pockets. You know me, I love pockets in everything. It has an a-line shape and buttons at the side seam so you can open or close them for more ease of movement. I’m wearing the regular, which has a 54.5″ length, and the petite comes with a 51.75″ length. This dress has very positive reviews, and I can see why. You could also belt it if you wanted more shaping.

Stretch linen is always a comfy option for hot weather. This blazer has the structure of lapels and shoulder pads, without a stiff feel. It’s lined and has a front button closure but it has a very relaxed vibe. I’m wearing it over these wide leg linen cargo pants that have a cropped silhouette with a 24″ inseam. The blazer only comes in this teakwood color, but the pants also come in melon or alabaster.

Here’s that pleated skirt in blue pearl. I’m wearing it with this printed butterfly tee, which picks up the blue of the skirt. It’s a cotton blend with spandex and totally opaque…which I always prefer in my tees. I topped it with this bright yellow relaxed denim jacket, which should leave no doubt that bright yellow is not my best color😂. It’s a pretty combo with the blue in a soft denim that has a nice amount of stretch.

These drape wide leg jeans come in regular and petite. I’m wearing the regular with a 30″ inseam and am standing on my tippy toes, so the petite with a 27.5″ inseam would be better for me. The front seam is elongating, and they have trouser-style side seam pockets.
I’ve tucked a no-iron, fitted white shirt in and tied on this seaport printed bandana. Bandana prints are showing up on tops, dresses, and, of course, scarves this season. I couldn’t love them more because their vibe is so relaxed it’s perfect with jeans and a tee.
Here are some new pieces I did not get to try on:
New Jackets

I’m a big fan of the comfort and ease of knit blazers. This Slub Knit Blazer would be a great addition to any spring wardrobe. It’s soft, lightweight design features the details of a blazer with the ease of a knit cardigan, like front pockets. It’s a classic fit, which means it will work for so many different outfits. This pretty coral is new for spring, but it also comes in six other colors, including neutrals like white, navy, and tan. Of note…her jewelry! How fun is this Butterfly Statement necklace and earrings?

We all love tweed jackets, and this Short Sleeve Tweed Jacket puts a modern twist on the classic. Featuring two front pockets and gold decorative buttons, it will look great with everything from dresses to jeans. The cropped length makes it especially flattering with wider leg jeans and pants.

Talk about a showstopper, this Double-Breasted Trench Coat will definitely make a statement. It’s designed in a lightweight fabric with a polished look that’s perfect for the spring season. Its notch lapels, buttoned shoulder epaulets, and storm flaps enhance its sophisticated appeal. If the magenta color is not your thing, it’s also available in a classic taupe.

This Travelers Collection Floral Jacquard Jacket would be a fabulous piece to pack for a cruise or wear over a simple outfit to spring events. The striking floral jacquard appliqué adds dimension to your look, and this jacket adds a comfortable and stylish approach to any outfit. It’s custom-colored to match Chico’s other wrinkle-free traveler’s classics.
New Tops

They’ve released some pretty new colors in the No-Iron Linen Shirt, which is a great wardrobe basic. This ready-to-wear all-linen top is all about comfort, and no ironing is required. It comes in 8 colors and is great as an outer layer over a tee or on its own.

Pink is a trending color for spring, and there are lots of options to choose from. This Shirred Shoulder Tee is a pretty option in their Touch of Cool fabric, so it’s designed to be lightweight, comfy, and cool. It’s also available in a stunning blue or black.

This Smocked Long Sleeve Tee is made from a substantial knit, in the prettiest lavender shade. It could be a great base layer or accessorized with a jacket, fun necklace, or scarf.
New Pants and Jeans

The utility fashion statement is here to stay, and the Belted Twill Utility Cropped Pants are a great option for spring. These feature two large functional cargo pockets, wide legs, and a removable belt. Pair these with everything from sandals to loafers. They also come in a full-length version here.

They’ve added a fun ankle detail to the Brigette Slim Rivet Ankle Pants for spring. They still feature everything we love, from the slimming, sculpting fabric for a smooth silhouette to the angled front pockets—but the new rivet detail adds an extra touch of style.

These Girlfriend Frayed Cropped Jeans are the perfect nod to spring with their bright and cheerful yellow hue. They feature Chico’s built-in shaping solution, plus the cropped and frayed edges give them a lived-in look and feel.

The Pull-On Ankle Jeggings are comfortably chic and sleek, and now come in a new ankle length. These jeans offer the timeless look of classic five-pocket denim, complete with rivet accents, in a stretch fabric that smooths and slims. Designed to move with you, they provide all-day comfort that’s perfect for ladies who don’t want to fuss with a zipper and snap.
New Shoes & Accessories

I love the look of these Cora Raffia Flats. The raffia cord design adds a unique touch, while the memory foam padding ensures all-day comfort. Plus, the breathable mesh lining and slip-resistant outsole make them as practical as they are stylish.

This Paisley Square Scarf is made from a soft, knit fabric. Featuring a gorgeous spring print and limitless styling options—wear it around your neck, head, wrist, or even as a chic accent for your purse or beach bike.

If you are looking for an interesting piece of jewelry, this Gold and Blue Butterfly Brooch is it! Add this charming brooch to your jacket, purse, or scarf for an elegant touch. Or pair it with other pieces from Chico’s iconic jewelry and accessories collection for a perfectly coordinated look.
Have you shopped Chico’s latest collection?

I think Chico’s is my style. Unfortunately the closest one is almost two hours away…and truly out of my price range. But I do sure enjoy looking!
Who knew Chicos could be so stylish! Love the linen pant suit and the linen shirt dress!! Great post
Lol, I love that shirtdress too!
Congratulations on getting your first nights sleep after your husband’s surgery. So good to hear he is doing well. My husband is also doing well post cataract surgery on his right eye. Next Friday we do it again on the left eye. He is also doing very well and seeing better. He is fussing about the change in color in everything. I guess he liked everything looking brownish yellow!
Yellow is not my color either but it is really a pretty color. I love the butterfly tee and dark blue skirt. Chicos sizing fits me so I have many things from them.
Good luck with his second eye!
Thanks for the great Chico’s try-on! That green midi dress is so pretty on you, but you’re right, online it looks really pale. I’m going to have to check out the slub jackets, and that Travelers floral jacket is gorgeous. I wish that I had an event to wear it to. Hope you can get some rest and that your husband is feeling much better.
One of the few women’s clothing stores in my area is a Chico’s, so that is my backstop. I also like that if I order something online, I can return it to the store without a shipping fee like Talbots has. I went into Chico’s the other day having been lured in by potential discounts and sales and found some items, but there are a couple more I just ordered having seen them in your column that weren’t in the store. My issue with the current crop is embroidery. There are just too many items, like crops, blouses and jackets that would be much nicer plain than with embroidery that I guess is supposed to lure you into purchasing the matching item that also has the same embroidered flourish.
Hi Jennifer,
Lovely chico pieces thanks for showing us. I love those linen dresses and the long skirts in such pretty colors. So good to hear your husband is doing well. Have a lovely easy weekend xo
Thanks Francesca!
I just popped into Chico’s over the weekend to pick up some of their Slub 3/4-Sleeve Tees (which I like for working out in) and picked up a pair of the Poplin Cropped Pants in Washed Sage. The poplin pants are made from a super-lightweight cotton fabric that is perfect for Arizona. You are right about the color differences between online and in-person views — the Washed Sage appears pale on the website, but in person, it is darker and more appealing (not quite as dark as the Secret Meadow color). I need to go back and take a look at the linen dresses that look so pretty on you.
I love your shoes!
Thanks they’re fun
Good morning 🌞 so glad your husband is doing better. I love all the skirts and tops and tweed jacket. Really pretty colors for spring 🌼
Thanks Rosemary
So glad to hear your husband and you have cleared that hurdle. Great Chicos try on.
I’m so glad your husband is doing better and you were able to get some rest.
I think we finally had our last day of winter weather – woohoo! I’m so excited to start wearing some spring outfits.
I’m loving that magenta trench coat, and may have to order that.
Have a great (and hopefully relaxing) weekend Jennifer.
Happy spring Yvonne!
Hi Jennnifer,
I’ve been admiring the very pretty resin Lizzie Fortunato earrings you’ve been wearing and I’m curious about them. Do you find them heavy on your ears?
They are very lightweight. I love them so much and find they go with a lot!
