Weekend Reading 05.10.25

Happy weekend, ladies! We are due for a pretty one, and I’m already getting my sandals out. The temperatures hit the 90s yesterday, so it seems full steam ahead for summer in my neck of the woods.

My favorite… a London Fog and Blackberry Scone at Murchies

As the weather gets super hot here, we will be heading up to our apartment in Vancouver, so I need to start thinking about what I will pack.

I’ve done some shopping lately and discovered I really love the very pale blue, non-distressed denim for spring/summer. I saw lots of options at the stores yesterday and bought these ones from Levi’s in the Wow Me Over -Light Wash. They’re low-stetch denim with just 1% spandex and fit really well. I haven’t owned a pair of Levi’s for many years, and I’m now questioning why not because you can’t beat the price!

What you loved this week:

Crossed my radar:

  • I love cotton bandanas this time of year and could not resist this affordable cutie that coordinates so nicely with my new shoes 🙂 I got the Ivory striped one.

  1. I found Lee jeans at Walmart! Comfy with a bit of stretch. Run true t size.

  2. I think I will use a bright pink polish for my next pedi.

  3. I just came back from Vancouver where the weather was cool and wonderful to the heat of Southern California. We made a stop in Victoria, and I took the opportunity to make visits to the dead Bay stores and pay my respects. That situation just breaks my heart. Shopping in Canada is will not be so easy now (or fun.)

  4. Love the Rothy shoes they are out of my size:( On wait list. They really are comfy. Picked up a pair at TJ Max for $50.00 Never hurts to look at sales. Twice I have found super cute shoes there for incredible deals.
Thank you, Thank you for the 18 things. I love white noise at night and now I can have it all night without going to youtube and sometimes adds, when traveling. Yes it is going to get hot here time to think linen and dresses.

  5. Your pink dress is so pretty on you! I’m more comfortable in a longer dress or I’d jump on it. Love light wash jeans for summer, anxious to see them on you. Hope you can Stay cool!

  6. I rediscovered Levis last year and now have 3 pair. The fit is reliable and the price is excellent.

    1. Levi’s or Lee jeans! Love the fit and price.

Hi Jennifer-just wanted to tell you that I met the adorable twins, Lizzie and Katherine Fortunato yesterday at a trunk show and mentioned you. Lizzie is very familiar with you and thrilled that you wear and love their fun jewelry. I picked up a few pieces and am going to visit their showroom in NY next time I’m there. They said it’s open to the public and they love to chat with people! If I were more tech savvy, I’d show you the pic I took of them:)

    1. That’s so fun! I love their designs and they are so clever!!

  8. Good Morning Jennifer. Oddly enough, one of the things on my “I’d like to do next week” is to go to the Levi’s store in Park Meadows Mall and look for a light wash jean. I’ve never been in the store and Levis were about the only jean I wore back in the day. Thanks for showing the jean. I hope you’ll show a photo of you wearing them one of these days. Here in Colorado, we’re in the 80’s tomorrow, so you bet my sandals have come out of hibernation. Happy Mother’s Day To You.

    1. Same! That’s all I wore many years ago. They were the best do I’m happy to rediscover them. I certainly will share me wearing them. Happy Saturday!

  9. Fun to see that my favorite shoe brand, Rothys, made the cut this week. Slingbacks won’t stay on my heels, but they do make this captoe style in their regular flat. It comes both in the almond and a darker camel color that I find coordinates really well with darker pants I have both (Rothys are my secret obsession – can’t figure out how shoes with zero arch support can be so comfy for all day wear….but they are!).

    1. Wow, I didn’t see the regular flat in store…immediately checking online. Rothy’s never hurts my bunion so I find them incredibly comfy. Thanks for the tip. I think the almond toe is so flattering.
