Weekend Reading 12.13.25
Happy weekend, ladies. I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to lose my energy and looking forward to winding down for the holidays. I had no blog post yesterday because I hit a wall when my X-rays turned up some bad news about my left foot. I’ll update you later.
The last few months have been particularly draining with health issues for both myself and my family, and I will be relieved to kick 2025 to the curb.

Many other bloggers you follow will keep up the pace and continue publishing posts through the holidays, long after I have burned out. I’m impressed with their stamina, but at 69, I no longer feel the need to push myself that hard.
Bestsellers this week:
- This gorgeous washable tufted rug was a massive bestseller last week…which cracks me up because it’s not the one I got 🙂 I only have one room that needs another rug, so we’re thinking it over.
- This soft mock neck sweater, which I love and now own in two colors. It’s hard to resist a soft, cozy sweater that comes out of the washer and dryer looking fabulous.
- This cashmere duster flew out the door. I’m not sure if you’re all gifting it, but you may want to own one yourself. Mine runs a bit roomy, but I prefer that to snug.
- These wide leg ponte pants are on the way for many readers in this community. I’ve had the charcoal in my cart, but am now thinking navy may be best for me.
- This gray leopard cardigan was extremely popular with readers, and if I didn’t own an extremely similar one, I would buy it.
Best of the weekend sales:
NORDSTROM has free delivery before Christmas, so if you need gifts, I’d jump on it soon! Their Beauty and Gift Sets are beautifully curated and make shopping easy. I have to admit this Full Body Massage Mat and Heating Pack is going to someone on my list…moi!
TALBOTS has 50% off and free shipping over $125. I popped in yesterday and fell for this velvet shirt. Wearing it with these coordinating velvet pants would be my idea of a comfy, festive, NYE outfit. This sequin tank would be a piece you could pull out season after season.
CHICO’S has 50% off new tops and sweaters and 40% off everything else. Chore jackets are certainly having a moment this fall/winter, and I love the way bouclé elevates this one. This feathered pullover is a fun holiday piece that’s not restricted to the season.
LOFT has 55% off everything and free shipping. This teddy dress just arrived, and I love it! I plan to wear it for dinner out with friends this weekend…I’ll try to get a picture. I also got this mockneck sweater (my third in this style), in the same whisper white.
LANDSEND has 50% off and 60% off outerwear and sleepwear. It’s a very favorite brand with our community…probably because the quality is great and they offer both petite and plus sizes. I have 4 of their coats in varying weights and can tell you they are amazing!
GAP has 50% off and delivery by 12/24. I adore their sweats and like to buy mine in matching sets. I don’t wear them outside, but they’re so cozy and warm this time of year…plus I love that I can buy petites! I also love their cashsoft knits and have my eye on this faux fur collar zip cardi.
In case you missed it:

Have a wonderful weekend and do something nice for yourself. I’ll be knitting when I can, elevating my foot, and listening to this audiobook on Foot Pain Relief. It’s really great!

Thank you for being as authentic about your health challenges and your exhaustion as you are about your delight in fashion, your family, travel, your hobbies and all the joys of your life. You give such a realistic and balanced approach. And your amount of research is amazing!
I bought the soft mock neck sweater from Loft when you first said you and your daughter bought one. When I got it and wore it, I went back to buy another color. Such a soft, wearable sweater…thank you for making me aware of this item. Sorry you are feeling burned out as this season so often makes one feel. Those of us who look for your blog can certainly appreciate how you feel and encourage you to not feel you MUST post so often. No doubt that feeling of pressure is not good for your health or psyche.
Thanks Celia. I’m working on pacing myself better.
Thank you so much for the discount for the pearl lariat necklace! Jennifer, you always look polished and beautiful in everything! Thank you for sharing with all of us. You are truly appreciated. Happy holidays, Merry Christmas to you and all. With love and gratitude, Tam.
Merry Christmas!
Oh no! I’m going for an ultrasound and X-ray of my left foot. I already know what it is, but it has to be confirmed. Sigh.
Oh no! I’m sorry…good luck
Maybe instead of a ball drop in Times Square they should have a giant boot that kicks the number 2025 out of the picture. I think many feel as you do. While it’s great to have daily posts from you, we can manage with fewer. Put your feet up, do some knitting, watch old movies, and call it good.
That visual is perfect Susan!!
