February Cruelty-Free Beauty Empties

Happy Wednesday ladies. I still haven’t taken photos of my new haircut but I do have a small video that I shared on Instagram about my February cruelty-free beauty empties that I filmed the day after my haircut. You can see what it looks like from the front, and I have a video in the works on how I style my hair so stay tuned.

Since I test out many. many skincare products, at-home tools, and makeup, I thought it would be fun to share my empties from February along with the products that make the cut and will get reordered.

I did one of these last month but I  flashed the items on the screen too quickly, so this time, I am listing them below.

Here’s a list of my empties from February, in order of appearance:

GrandeLashMD – I love, love, love this product but sadly can’t reorder it. It’s a lash serum that has made an amazing improvement in my lashes. My tube lasted longer than 12 weeks which makes it less expensive than it would initially seem.

VitaBrow ADVANCED Eyebrow Conditioner – the outer half of my eyebrows was non-existent. Over plucking and thyroid issues meant I needed to pencil in the outer eyebrow. This product has helped them all grow back. Sadly, they’re growing in white so I now use this…

Busy Gal Brow Tinted Brow Gel –  I use taupe which is the perfect shade for me. I simply brush my brow up, coating the hairs them brush them into place, where they stay all day. I no longer need to use a brow pencil. It’s truly remarkable!

Jane Iredale Lip Fixation – you’d think after using this every day for 8 years I could remember its name:) I call it Fascination in the video but it’s really Lip Fixation. The color I use is ‘Fascination’.

Agent Nateur Holi Stick Deodorant – I love this stuff and am finishing up my 6 or 7th tube. It has a wonderful fresh smell and lasts all day. Although I love this, I am replacing it with this…

Maison Louis Marie No.o4 Bois de Balincourt Deodorant – I’m thrilled to discover this all-natural deodorant that matches my favorite new Perfume. Both are clean beauty products and cruelty-free.

What did you finish up in February that you won’t be replacing?

Is there anything else you’d like me to make a video of?

Have a fabulous day!

Absolutely love your chic new cut! The lash and brow products sound amazing. I too have lost the majority of my eyebrows (especially the outer portion) and what I do have is white. Your eyelashes look fantastic! Great video. Thank you!

  3. Jennifer, I a so grateful for your post today. At 74 I am having the same problems and will definitely try some of the products you recommend. I love, love, love your new haircut! It looks fabulous. And it doesn’t look at all thin. Am looking forward to you hair styling video.

  4. Agree with other commenters- the new hairstyle is Great! Can you also tell me about your glasses? I really like them. They look as though they are a soft green/grey in the video.

    1. They are the brand Aspire available at many opticians. They are a soft aqua color

  5. I love your new hair cut/style on you!

I’ve got light eyebrows and lashes as well, and tint them myself at home. I use a taupe or dark brown for my brows and blue-black for my lashes. I only need to pencil in where I’m still sparse and set with a clear brow gel.

  6. So appreciate your recommendations particularly for the eyebrows since you and I have the same coloring and mine have always been sparse, plus what I do have now is mostly white. On the subject of your hair, as to what I can see I absolutely LOVE it. -Brenda-

P.S.: My last trip to the hairdresser was well before Xmas at which time due to the rotating lock downs I asked her to shorten up the back as much as possible without it looking ridiculous which I am glad she did as has proven to be a cut I’ve decided to keep at least for while as so easy to maintain/style myself. To explain; I currently wear it in line with my lower chin (angular blunt cut/bob style) which I can easily trim myself if need be however as the back was always the thickest and fastest growing part, it is no longer ‘a constant’ challenge in upkeep plus as an added bonus it doesn’t look shabby even yet. (To give you an idea how short it was, rather than using just scissors/shears she also used hair clippers/trimmers. Oh as I also dye my own hair, it has made that task even simpler.)

  7. My hair is white and so are many of my eyebrows. I use a dye called Refectocil that I found on Amazon. It comes in several colors but I use Graphite 1.1. It can be purchased by itself or as a kit that includes a creme developer. This is a semi-permanent dye and so wears off/grows out in 3-4 weeks. Also on Amazon, I found a brand of eyeshadow called Julep that goes on creme and dries to a powder. Great for crepey eyelids! The eyeliner is gel to powder and stays on for hours without raccoon eyes. I bought the taupe shimmer (not glitter) and the color is perfect. Can’t wear brown or black. The lack of hair color is certainly a challenge!

Love the new hairdo…..it is perfect on you! Very casual and pretty. I have tried many serums for my eyebrows and can’t say that they actually worked. So, thank heaven for eyebrow pencil so I don’t look ghastly or at least I hope I don’t…..lol!!

  9. I love the information especially on brows, mine have done the same as yours the ends are gone so I will try the product. It says available at Nordstrom’s on notes. I would love to see your haircut I am over mine and new medication will thin my hair so I truly need a change.

Thank you for the skin information the other day I printed out to take to Sephora, I already use some of the Drunk Elephant products.

Your new hairstyle is SO cute!

  11. Well, I think you did it! That new cut and style is so flattering! It shows movement and softness that does nothing but look so fun and youthful.
I enjoyed reviewing all your tried and true products. My daily routine seems to be consumed with trying to undo the damage I did to my skin and hair. I over plucked my brows, over ratted my hair, over tanned my skin and actually so much more. I allowed myself to be influenced by so much advertising targeted at so many girls. There was always a certain look that was never quite achievable. Even today, you see young women with these same issues. For example, very few young girls would ever consider wearing a short hair style even though it might be more flattering.
I am loving all your practical advice and little tips on how to navigate through these changes we may be experiencing today!

  12. Why can you not reorder grande Lash MD? I have tried another lash product and had issues with lids turning red. Considering trying this product.

  13. Your eyelashes look long and thick to me! Not sure when you stopped using GrandeLash, but the result was worth it.

    1. I just stopped this week so we’ll see how much time it takes to see the results fade, and yes it was worth it!!

      1. Thanks Jennifer, keep us posted!

  14. Thank you for the tips. I LOVE your new hair cut!!!!!!!!! It is perfect for you. What products do you use to make it puffy and add body?

    1. I use a lot! I think it’s a combo of product and technique. I’m making a video soon.

  15. Your hair looks fabulous! My hair is thinning on top and I even have some spots with hair missing although it’s not visible to anyone but me. Still, the thinning on top is. My part is getting more and more noticeable. I’m looking forward to your “hair post.” I absolutely love your haircut. It’s youthful and chic.

    1. Thank you Beth. Thinning hair is so painful emotionally. I’m sorry you’re struggling with this.

  16. Haircut is en pointe! Fits you perfectly!!

    1. Thanks! It’s really ‘growing on me’ 😉

  17. I love your hair cut and style too!

    1. Thanks Karen. I hated it when I left the salon but I’m starting to really like it.

  18. I love your product recommendations!. I have a few of your products which I use regularly.

I color my own hair to avoid monthly stylist visits. My stylist recommended a lighter shade and using highlights so the roots are not as obvious. I went with his recommendation and many years of the same shade has been replaced. Love the difference.

    Thanks.

    1. That’s a great idea. He sounds like a clever stylist.

  19. You hair is SUPER Cute on you and looks so healthy and a lot of it!

Might need to try the brow gel….back in the 70s the thing to do was pluck, pluck, pluck so you had a very thin eyebrow. UGH. Now we need them!

    Blessings,

    1. Agreed, and thanks. I’m still pluck pluck plucking, but now it’s on my chin🤣

  20. Oh I love the new hairstyle Jennifer! So fresh and new.
