Take, for example, this ribbed turtleneck sweater. Its classic styling will make it a workhorse in my cold-weather wardrobe for years to come. The fabric is a soft cotton blend that’s slim enough to layer under vests and jackets but totally opaque. The neck is also very comfy! I hate that strangled feeling some turtlenecks can cause, but the spandex in this one keeps it stretchy enough to hold its shape without being too tight. I’m wearing Opal Blue, and it also comes in 8 other shades.
I love the button detail on the sleeves of this turtleneck. They could have used any old button color, but they matched the color exactly, which is an elegant detail I appreciate.
Talbots quilted vests are a staple to enhance any fall wardrobe. I’ve been wearing my ivory one for more years than I can count. The opal blue sweater is gorgeous on you! Unfortunately they don’t have any of those sweaters in petite. At 5’1” tall, I really need petites. Is your vest stiff? It seems everyone I try is stiff and not very comfortable. I like the back detail on your vest. It is very expensive too even with the sale.
It’s not stiff at all. I know the problem with waiting for sales is our sizes are often sold out.
I don’t stock up on basics at Christmas because I’m usually too freaked out about getting gifts for everyone! I always like the look of puffer vests but we don’t really have in between weather here in the NW so mine don’t get much use. I really like the looks of these from Talbot’s. 🎄
I love the look of both sweater and vest. I have owned the (same) sweater for years and really need a new one. However, this year’s didn’t fit well. I am 5′ 2″ and the sweater at 24 inches hit me in a funny spot. I’m going to try to get to the store (not close) to see if I can find one that looks better. The blue is gorgeous on you. I love the vest b/c it has both snaps and zipper, so it’s easy to throw on and just snap. I do think it’s pricey, though — maybe with the sale …
