Weekend Reading 06.14.25
Happy weekend! What a difference a day makes in the weather here.

Outfit items linked below
It’s turned cloudy and cooler, so it was easy to stay inside and let my skin keep peeling. Just yesterday, it began to look clear enough to try some tinted foundation, but if I’m still flakey, it won’t look good. I’m very happy with the recovery so far and will share the final results when it’s all healed.
Fashion on my radar:
I’ve been wanting to add more summer dresses to my wardrobe so I ordered this white dress with a bubble hem and hello…sleeves! I also ordered this chambray sleeveless dress because when it’s super hot out…I don’t care who sees my arms 🙂
I’ve seen a lot of women wearing chunky gladiator-inspired sandals that look amazingly comfortable, so I’m on the hunt. They need to be very soft leather, have enough straps that I don’t have to grip my toes to keep them on and be flexible. Any suggestions are welcome!
My new Sezane bag is the perfect cross between and shoulder bag and a tote. Now I’m looking for a larger one I can take to the farmers market (last week, I swiped my daughter’s, but I know she’ll want it back).
Sales of Note:
Haven Well Within is Talbot’s sister brand that carries beautiful pieces! This weekend, they have extra markdowns off sale items that are worth checking out. These linen blend palazzo pants look fabulous for the hot weather. And this washable silk robe is just gorgeous.
J.Jill has 20% off cotton gauze. I can highly recommend my maxi dress, which now comes in 3 great colors. The new lilac color of this tunic is fabulous! This cotton gauze maxi dress is a gorgeous espresso color.
Eileen Fisher has dropped a new collection that looks fabulous…but in the meantime, some great pieces are on sale. It’s hard to beat a crisp cotton poplin shirt this time of year. I have these cotton ponte pants in another color and love them!
Nordstrom has up to 25% off beauty! This Anastasia eyebrow kit is 20% off in 3 shades. Clinique Moisture Surge cream is also included in the sale.
Talbots’ Red Door Sale is on with lots of great markdowns.

The picture of you and your daughter is a keeper. It sounds like you are healing nicely from your face treatment. I’m so sorry that you have to go through it! But it is worth the misery and pealing to be free of pre cancer cells on your face. My mother had to have many removed. She was a golfer and a gardener and many years before sunscreen was available. I get my blonde pale skin from her but so far haven’t had any issues. Fingers crossed. I’m very careful about protecting my skin and I always wear a hat. I’ve gotten quite fond of my fedoras. I love all of your hats! I just received the Clarks Cloud stepper sandals in neutral light beige. They are comfortable but don’t feel stable enough to wear outside of the house. Great to slip on and off while having a quiet day like today. It is 91 here. We walked our dog early this morning to beat the heat. I have some great Cushionaire three strap sandals with all three straps that are adjustable. They are comfortable and safe enough to wear outside or on casual errands. I have those in a light brown color. I got them on Amazon last spring but they may still have this style and they are not expensive either. Have a great relaxing Sunday.
I hope you had a lovely weekend Sydney!
I just bought a pair of Fitflops and I love them.
That’s a really nice photo of you and your daughter! I’ve never purchased Eileen Fisher clothing. The more I see the items you show on the blog, I’m getting very tempted to try some things!
Hi, Jennifer. You and your daughter look so cute, like you’re ready for a fun day! Love the Tuckernuck white dress with bubble hem. Can you let us know if it’s real sheer after you receive it, please? Thanks for the sales list. It saves a lot of time to look at your picks. Have a great weekend.
I’m excited to get it and will share a picture the first time I wear it!
First, so happy you are enjoying time with your daughter and family. I know you feel blessed and cherish the time you get to spend with her. Second, I just can’t show the world my wrinkled arms. I know I should get over it but not there yet. Finally, I have a pair of very comfortable gladiator-inspired sandals I bought from Life-stride that have very stretchy straps. They don’t hurt my corns so love them. I purchased the sandals years ago. Love the look!
I have a pair of Vionic sandals that fit the bill. Very comfortable, the straps are Velcro adjustable. And they do look like gladiator style.
Yay!
I was interested in the Justine Basket Bag. However after looking at it on the website, I could not find the size of the bag anywhere. I can’t believe anyone would purchase a bag without knowing the size. Did I miss it somewhere?
These are the dimesions listed under the bag on the website. There’s a small arrow pointing down to click…. Dimensions: 25 x 51 x 18 cm / 9.8 x 20.1 x 7.1 in
That’s a lovely photo of you and your daughter.
I second your recommendation on the Eileen Fisher pointe pants. I bought a pair in tan and went back for the off white. They are comfortable, fit well and launder like dream.
The fabric is amazing!
