NSale 2025 Try-On, Round Two: What’s Still Worth Buying

I went back for a second round of the NSale 2025 try-on because apparently, I enjoy chaos. This time, I focused on what I thought you might actually want to see: wearable clothes with decent construction, flattering cuts, and no unnecessary feathers or fringe. I bypassed the questionable trends and narrowed in on pieces that feel grown-up, pulled-together, and practical (in a stylish sort of way). A few even tempted me enough to come home. My first try on is here.

NIC = ZOE SPOTTED SHIRTDRESS size M

This Nic + Zoe polka dot shirtdress fits like a dream! The black and white spots are reversed on the belt and inside collar band, giving it a bit of a twist. The fabric is substantial and drapes nicely, plus is has pockets! I’m wearing a M so it runs true to size and is machine wash, line dry. I see this in the fall with black boots or now with sandals.

CASLON CHAMBRAY A-LINE DRESS size M

This chambray dress is a winner and is selling out like crazy. It’s worth keeping an eye for this one being restocked because it’s nicely made, flattering, has pockets and is affordable. This M is too snug across the front, which explains why the larger sizes are currently sold out.

FAUX SUEDE SKIRT size S / FAUX SUEDE JACKET size S / LONG SLEEVE V-NECK SWEATER size S

This faux suede maxi jacket and skirt comes in wine and this luxe-looking espresso brown. The skirt appears to be sold out in brown, but hopefully they will restock because it’s a very rich look, great fit, and terrific price. The long-sleeved V-neck sweater is the exact same brown. They also have these pleated trousers in the same espresso brown included in the Nsale, so you could create a column of color that way.

CONTRAST TRIM LONG SLEEVE SWEATER DRESS size L

I wish I’d tried this cozy Halogen sweater dress on in a medium because this large is way too large on me…(see extra bulk on the sleeves). It’s a great fall dress that comes in 3 colors, including this rich navy. The fabric feels nice against the skin and has a lovely drape in the skirt.

CASLON COTTON TRENCH COAT size M

This Calson trench coat is a terrific quality coat with a nice weight. It comes in tan or this rich navy and is fully lined with all the traditional trench coat details. It’s double-breasted, and they mention that the belt is removable, which is sort of dumb because then the belt loops would stick out. I prefer to just tie my coat belt in the back when I’m not using it.

HALOGEN CROP BLAZER size M / ANCHOR PATCH POCKET JEAN size 30

This little navy cropped trench-inspired blazer came home with me. It’s adorable and I see it as an elevated alternative to a denim jacket this fall. It has tab detailing at the waist just above the short side slits and just oozes fun to me. It’s double-breasted with a stand collar that lies flat when the lapels are laid open. These jeans are super soft and fit well, but are not part of the Nsale.

CECE PRINCESS SEAM TWEED BLAZER size 10 / CASLON PULL-ON STRETCH CIGARETTE PANTS size M

This darling little tweed jacket is shown online with a mini skirt, but I pictured it grown up over black pants or a great pair of jeans and ballet flats. It’s a black check that’s fully lined, and the Chanel vibe is further enhanced by its jewel neckline and gold buttons. I think it runs true to size. The black pants are a thick, stretchy ponte knit that will be a workhorse in your wardrobe for years. They’re a pull-on style that also comes in navy and the quality is incredible for $46!

ZELLA 3-IN-1 TRENCH COAT size S / HARLOW STRAIGHT LEG JEANS

This is a trench, a vest, and a weather shield—all in one. It’s a versatile three-in-one trench which features a removable insulated vest, adjustable drawcord toggles for a custom fit, and smart details like storm flaps, a back vent, and a hood to keep you dry. Slip on the quilted vest for extra warmth, layer the shell alone for rain, or button them together when the forecast can’t decide. I came very, very close to bringing it home with me, but I couldn’t decide, so it’s in my cart while I figure out just what I need.

That wraps up round two of my NSale 2025 try-on. At this point, it feels like I’ve spent more time in Nordstrom fitting rooms than some employees, and I don’t even get a discount. If you’re still deciding what (if anything) to add to your wardrobe, I hope this gave you a little clarity on what’s available, along with fit info that works for you.
