Weekend Reading 10.04.25
It’s currently bootie and cashmere sweater weather here, which suits me perfectly. Fall is my favorite time of year to get dressed because the layering opportunities are endless. I love playing with accessories, which really create most of the personality in my outfits.

I did get my hair cut yesterday (picture above is before), but I’ll have to play with it a bit to see if the stylist’s “vision” matched mine. I always walk out of a salon with flat, shapeless hair because when I tell them to pile on the products, they don’t believe me 🤣.
Bestsellers of the week:
- This Nic+Zoe Knit blazer was a very popular reader favorite this week. It comes in several colors and I can see it being a great piece all fall and winter.
- My favorite Eileen Fisher stretch knit booties (that are marked way down) were also a huge best seller.
- Several of you treated yourself or bought gifts through the link to my new birthday tennis bracelet.
- Many ladies took advantage of the EBY buy one get one free sale and updated their lingerie drawers…I did.
- This Talbots Textured Cardigan has continued to be the biggest seller for the last few weeks!

Hi Jennifer, You help me decide which color fits my complexion. I enjoy all the clothing items you model. It definitely helps me with my selects! Take care, it’s positively the correct decision to have your nose examined more closely.
I concur with you about the haircut…I leave my hairdresser the very same way but don’t want to tell her I’d like more “oomph.” I have a bit of curl but it’s straightened so much by the blow dryer, it’s hard to get that curl back without a quick wash. I find that in two weeks the hair looks much better and then in five weeks it needs another cut! My mom used to tell me that “with your hair cut ‘that way,’ your nose looks soooo big!” And then she would gesture with her hands. Sheesh! Thank you, mom! and I’m 80 years old! Her comments have stayed with me all my life.
Oh boy! I’m sorry
I bought a knee-length L.L. Bean Women’s H2OFF Raincoat, Mesh-Lined, on sale some years ago. It is completely waterproof…not a drop creeps through the plastic-bonded fabric. After being caught in a huge, wind-driven rainstorm during which the lower parts of my legs were soaked, I bought the same coat in the long length. One of the coats always travels with me and really keeps me dry. The fabric also serves as a windbreaker.
The Eileen Fisher coat is very nice. I’m sure it will come in handy when traveling and just about any time you need a light weight coat.
I love that you explore so many brands of clothing that I would have never tried. I am not a fan of Talbots, everyone raves about their clothes. I am tall and find the summer shirts and shorts shrink and loose their shape quickly.
What other brands would you like me to explore?
Hi Jennifer, just wanted to say your hair looks great😊
Thanks Janis
I think your hair looks really nice. Color especially! I understand about feeling like you have flat hair when you leave the stylist though. My stylist uses no product on my hair except for a little hairspray. I usually don’t like the cut until I wash again and use my mousse.
I use lots of product to get oomph so I always like better after I’ve worked with it
The EBY lingerie link, takes you to Chico’s Double Breasted Blazer. Could you correct that? I would like to explore that link.
Oops, sorry, here you go. I love the Relief Bra but they have lots of styles
Good Morning Jennifer: That coat looks much better on you than the Eileen Fisher Model. And love the color. Here in Denver, it’s still in the high 80’s. I don’t see any cool down in sight so my new Quince Cashmere sweaters are still on the hangers, and I’m feeling a bit cranky about it. I love Fall weather and the food that comes with it.
Hang in there, before long it’ll be freezing!
Down here in Canon City it is already cooler at 74 degrees! You are only 110 miles north and the same altitude as we are at 5,300 ft. It is coming tomorrow! Monday and Tuesday for sure. Fall weather! Hang in there.
