Fresh Navy and White Summer Outfits
White with navy is such a classic color combo for summer. It’s a lower contrast option than white, with black and softer on many complexions. Today I’ve got two fresh navy and white summer outfits that are casual and easy to wear.
This unlined linen blazer is a great lightweight option for warm days. You can dress this up or way down, and because it’s unlined, it feels inherently casual. I folded the sleeves up because it helps me look taller, plus showing some wrist helps balance the amount of leg showing with the dress.

As I look at this photo, I see that one extra fold would have been an even better proportion. It comes in sizes 00-18, I’m wearing an 8-10 (M).
Navy and white look great with gold or silver accessories. I’m wearing my Jenny Bird Faye two-tone hoops that seem to go with everything. I wear silver-tone jewelry most often, but I do own a few gold pieces, so having earrings that combine both metals makes them easy to mix.

I decided to toss the blazer over this lightweight knit shift dress. I love a t-shirt dress for an easy one-and-done look. This one has side pockets plus plenty of stretch and comes in sizes 00-16W. I’m wearing a 6-8, so it’s a generous fit because the shape is straight.

I splurged on these shoes to wear to a wedding and find they go with everything. That’s the beauty of a nude shoe which has me thinking I may never buy anything but nude shoes again! Paul Green shoes are super comfy and, with my problem feet…worth the investment because their classic shape will be wearable for many years. More budget-friendly options are here, here, and here.
MORE NUDE SHOES
Nude shoes vary in color. So just as with nude bras and panties, choose ones that are very close to your own skin tone. The closer they are to your coloring, the more seamless they blend in, and the longer they make your legs look. This Nisolo pair intrigues me because they have a nude shade plus desert rose that looks lot a like my pink skin plus, they’re a certified B corporation that meets the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

Here I’ve tossed the same navy blazer over a navy Caslon scoop neck tee with some white jeans. These tees come in five colors, and this navy is selling out fast. The fabric is very lightweight, so I prefer these in the darker colors for opacity.

My Mother Rambler straight-leg jeans are a favorite shape this season. They’re slightly wider than many straight jeans, so have more room in the thighs. I can easily wear them with a slight heel or wedge, which helps my legs look longer. I’ve tried several higher-end denim brands this year and always come back to Mother jeans. They’re meant to go through the dryer and come out unshrunk, ready to wear. Honestly, hanging jeans to dry is beyond my patience level, so now I stick to ones labeled for the washer and dryer.
I twisted the corner of the tee and tucked it into the front of my jeans. It’s easier than a full tuck and allows the tee to blouse over my tummy a bit.

I’ve tossed on my silver pendant necklace here, which coordinates nicely with the two-tone hoops. The shoes are comfy enough for a long day, but I wouldn’t wear them for a trek to the mall…I might wear these low wedges (which I just ordered) instead.

Nordstrom is my favorite department store for so many reasons, not the least of which is their incredible customer service. Their shipping and returns are all free, both ways which means I can order two sizes and keep what fits best! I highly suggest joining the Nordy club (free here), which allows you to earn points towards notes you can use to shop later. They also offer BOPUS, ROTUS (reserve online, try on in-store), and curbside pickup.
Is navy and white a summer combo you wear?

I love navy and white. I also wear navy with several other colors,
especially light blue or turquoise. I changed from so much black to navy a couple of years ago and it was hard to find navy items then …now navy is everywhere. Just bought a cute pair of navy sandals. Still looking for the right nude sandals in my budget. Might have to try some of those you’ve listed.
Love that navy and white combo on you and the nude shoes are an amazing plus. You look gorgeous in these colors
Happy vacation to you. 😊
Love navy and white! So clean and fresh! I like the folding up of the jacket sleeve to appear taller, and I will try the tee-shirt twist. Brilliant!
Thank you, Jennifer, for your inspiration. Enjoy Vancouver!
Thank you!
Love the outfits today! Especially, the dress with and without the blazer. It looks incredible on you. I would love to see more items from and learn more about B Corporations. That’s something new to me. Im learning so much from you!
I will be sharing more because they’re such a good cause
Navy is a color that I seldom wear but you look amazing in it and I also like the way you ruched the t-shirt.

Thank you Brenda. I need to wea rit more often myself!
Jennifer, I absolutely enjoy navy and white. As a washed out, spry, but older gal, black suffocates me. Your picks and your styling tips are priceless. Wouldn’t I love to have a coffee with you in our nifty picks!!!!
Are you local?
You look gorgeous in navy and white! It is such a fresh and timeless look. The dress would be a couple of inches longer on me but the horizontal stripes would do me no favors. I am the same weight and coloring as you but those 2” shorter make a visual difference. Most everything I have is navy or white and in soft floating cap sleeves and subtle prints. My jeans, capris and Bermuda shorts are white, tan and navy. I am awaiting the ribbed white long sweater in a more sheer ribbing as a cover up for a.c. I saw how great it looked on you and went for it! Enjoy your vacation in beautiful Vancouver.
Thank you! It’s so lovely here
You managed to highlight how fresh navy and white can look without veering off into nautical/sailor territory. I’m not a fan of blazers generally, so I would likely pair your striped dress with a white denim jacket for a casual look. Was also thinking an open long navy cardigan, perhaps in linen, would be just as fresh as the navy blazer.
A long linen navy cardigan would be fabulous.
Love the shoes, love navy and white. However, I’m not a fan of the dress and its horizontal seam over the stomach, plus the pockets. While your dress has the seam pretty well-matched, the one I saw at Nordstrom was slightly askew and just drew the eye straight to it. Also, for me at 5’9″, the dress is far too short (36 inches!). It’s getting really hard to find the length that’s in between way-above-the-knee and lower calf.
Dress lengths are a struggle these days. That extra 5″ you have over me would make a big difference in things.
I just love navy and white
It’s so classic. Your outfits look really nice on you. The shoes look comfy too!
Oh how iove navy with white in spring-summer. I get most compliments when I wear that combination! ( I’m not as photogenic as you are)so it must be the colors.
I need a cute shift dress like yours!
Navy and white is so fresh looking. I bet it looks fabulous with your coloring.
Love the look; it’s so versatile — and I think you’ve old me on nude sandals. The one thing I’m not sure about is the blazer length. For me, it’s a little too long (or short) and ends in a funny place. Rather than an unlined blazer, I might try an open cardi in a longer length to see if that would work with my T-shirt dress.
Good morning, Jennifer. Navy is the new black, as far as I am concerned. I usually wear navy and white with accents of color – Kelly green, coral, or turquoise blue. I enjoy looking for printed tops that include navy, white, and one of these colors. Enjoy your stay in Vancouver! I visited there once and would love to return.
Good morning! It’s such a pretty city, we’re enjoying it.
Good Morning Jennifer, hope your vacation is going well. I very much like today’s outfit, very coastal look. Have a great day!
We are enjoying it! Thanks, Pat.
I love navy and white. Both these looks are fantastic and something I’d wear for sure. I’d want to try the dress on though to make sure it wouldn’t be too short.
I hear you. I’m just on the border for lots of shorter dresses these days and as you know, I’m 5’4″.
