Holiday New Arrivals from Some Favorite Brands

I know it’s just early November, but our favorite brands are already rolling out their holiday collections. I’ve started visiting storefronts to try on a few pieces for upcoming dressing room try-on sessions, but for now, let’s do a little window shopping and see what holiday new arrivals Talbots, Loft, J.Crew Factory, and Chico’s have in store for the festive season.

J. Jill didn’t have their holiday collection on the floor when I stopped by yesterday, but I did spot this sequined sweater knit poncho that looks and feels very festive.

Chicos

NO DROOP DROP EARRING / METALLIC SATIN MAXI SKIRT / FAUX PEARL FLATS / GOLD TWEED JACKET / EMBELLISHED CARDIGAN / V-NECK VELOUR MIDI DRESS / TRAVELERS VELVET COWLNECK TOP / GIRLFRIEND COATED ANKLE JEANS / SILVER METALLIC LEATHER LOAFER / FEATHER CUFF SLEEVE DRESS

I’m anxious to visit the larger Chico’s near me to see more of their holiday collection in person. I did find a few pieces on my recent visit, including the festive red jacket below, which you can see more of in my recent dressing room try-on here. A quick look through their website hints at a gorgeous palette of blush pinks, metallic golds, silvers, creams, and classic blacks. I’m also seeing lots of rich textures like satins, feathers, sequins, and tweeds that will be perfect for holiday parties, New Year’s celebrations, etc.

TWEED DOUBLE BREASTED SWEATER BLAZER size 1 / CAVIAR TRIM V-NECK PULLOVER size 1

I loved this double-breasted sweater blazer styled over a column of black, which makes me feel ready for the holidays. Its cropped length makes it petite-friendly and pretty versatile. The fabric doesn’t have spandex, but the fiber blend has some slight stretch, so it moves when you do. I can see this trio dressed up for work or a holiday party, and each individual piece could be dressed down.

Loft’s new arrivals are packed with a fantastic selection of everyday tops and sweaters perfect for the winter season. I’m seeing plenty of festive textures like velvet, tweed, metallics, shimmer, and sequins alongside timeless classics like Fair Isle sweaters, so there’s truly something for every occasion.

Talbots always shines during the holiday, and this year’s collection is no different. The colors are both vibrant and subtle in gorgeous fabrics and shapes. I always find their velvet particularly rich-looking, and they’ve also added a lot of soft, luxurious satins to the line-up this season. You can see their entire collection of velvets and satins here. I like that they’re offering gorgeous winter blues, fuchsias, and purples which are perfect if you’re looking to mix it up and step away from the traditional holiday reds and greens.

SEQUIN SHELL size S / OCCASION CARDIGAN size S

This cardigan with the rhinestone buttons is the little kind of festive piece you could toss on over anything for a little festive feel this upcoming season. It comes in 5 colors. I’m wearing it over a simple sequin shell which also comes in ivory.

J.Crew Factory’s holiday collection is here, and it’s full of traditional holiday prints, fabrics, and colors. Their prices are fabulous for when you want to add an affordable touch of festive to your look. I’m spotting plenty of classic tartan plaids. 1. We have a winter weather watch starting at 5:00pm today until 5:00pm tomorrow. There is snow on the mountains from last night. It is the first time I have seen snow this year.
I just finished switching out both my winter clothes and my husband’s. He seems to think it is elves! He wore a nice flannel plaid shirt today for errands. I will wear my dark green velveteen wide leg jeans from Chicos with a matching green knit tee shirt and black booties from Skechers to our HOA Thanksgiving dinner on the 17th. It is casual and will need to be warm. I have a warmer dark brown outfit if I want to wear cords. No other holiday events planned here.

    1. LOL, he thinks it’s elves… Stay warm!

  2. Love all the holiday looks. I always try to wear something sparkly during the holidays. I don’t have any formal parties anymore. Just casual and festive.

Everything you’ve shared is great, but I’ll be wearing an Alex Evenings silver evening gown (that has a wonderful late 1930s/early 1940s vibe) to our traditional right-before-Christmas trip on the Cincinnati Dinner Train. My husband will be wearing his tuxedo (yes, he’s owned one since the early 2000s). But Christmas itself will be cozy and casual. I’m going to start seriously looking for this year’s (not ugly) Christmas sweaters for us for the family get together and a pair of silver shoes to wear with my gown next week. By the way, I think that you look fabulous in the red jacket from Chico’s. I think it would be perfect for a matinee of the Nutcracker or a carol concert. Do you ever indulge in fun Christmas earrings? I saw a pair that look like little gift boxes complete with bows that just made me smile. I’m thinking about getting them or something similar after I find my Christmas sweater to wear to my workplaces holiday lunch.

    1. Your outfit sounds fabulous. I used to wear lightbulb earrings but have long since lost them. I’ll have to look around

  4. I’d love to see a slightly dressy look- not jeans but not glam either.. I alwayswear stretch wide leg velvet pants with a subtle matching sparkly sweater. Feels like pajamas! But other ideas are welcome.

Thanks for the fix. I love reading your posts. Am in the middle of transitioning my wardrobe from summer to winter/fall, although down here we’re as likely to have sunny, 98 degree weather on Christmas Day as cold, rainy and wet.
But it helps me to move some items away and bring some things out. I always come across something I forgot I had and it delights me to see it and remember how I used it and then how I can incorporate it into what I have added over the year.

    1. I love switching over my wardrobe to rediscover old favorites too!
