Keeping Cool in White Linen
Happy Thursday ladies! Thanks for your response to yesterdays post. I chose 2 readers at random to test this new service and have emailed them. If this is a success I will let you know how you can take part in the future. Two weeks ago I shared my need to understand and wear appropriate clothes for the new activities we’re trying. We both purchased new sneakers and I have found them a big improvement. Mr. AWSL wasn’t so fortunate and here’s what I wore to his doctor appointment.

During his first practice game last week he forgot to wear his new sneakers and took an unfortunate fall. He broke his distal radius (wrist). The good news is he doesn’t need surgery for screws or pins and just needs to wear a short arm cast for 4 -6 inactive weeks.
SHOP THE LOOK
The temperature was in the high 90’s and since I needed to schlep his stuff as well as mine, I carried a huge french market tote. I may have looked like a milkman in all white linen but I was very cool. Wrinkled but cool.

We’ve got a few RV trips planned which means I’ll be figuring out how to hitch and unhook the trailer which should be fun. It’ll all be worth it because we’re anxious to get on the road.
I’ve had this white Sara Pacini linen set for over 20 years and never tire of it. I wear a simple white cotton tank under it because the linen is tissue weight and not opaque.
After the doctor, we picked up our grandson and brought him to our house for dinner. This is why we live here! Seeing him at regular intervals and being part of his life is beyond joyous. The pickleball is fun but nothing compares to our time with him.
Would you wear all white linen or would you feel like a milkman?
Thanks for reading ladies and have a great day!

I love the all white look on you. I’ve never tries it out of fear of what a short, wide hipped person would look like. Maybe just need to bite the bullet and buy some linen and try it. You make everything you show look so easy and carefree to wear. And yes geandbabies are so awesome!
Try several all white looks in in the store to see what shapes you like. It’s all about proportion!
I’m so sorry your husband has hurt himself just as you’re about to enjoy a summer of RVing. My girlfriend did the same. She tore a muscle that is taking a long time to heal and causing her quite a bit of discomfort. I think we need to work up to fast, strenuous activities. We’re not so very young and agile anymore. You’re a real trooper taking on the chore of hooking and unhooking. Watch your fingers! I know you like to drive so that part is easy. Are you heading up to BC to visit family & friends?
I just bought a pair of white jeans after reading your post. Now to keep them clean for a whole day. ????
Oh, and congrats to those that won the free consult.
We are heading to BC for a couple of weeks. Can’t wait! Good luck on keeping your jeans white!
I’m very much enjoying your moving adventures and transition to a hot climate wardrobe. I think your outfit looks fabulous. I have the white linen pants, but haven’t yet experienced tissue weight linen; most linen tops I find are way too hot for summer and I can’t bear to wear a tank as an extra layer. As it is, I have to put a fabric pad under my underwire bra to soak up sweat in the dead heat of summer. I may sew a white cotton voile tunic for a similar effect as the linen. Your jewelry is very beautiful, but doesn’t it make your neck hot?
These necklaces did not make my neck hot because only 2 strands of cool beads touched my neck. The dead heat is a challenge so we need to do what we can to stay stylish while we are melting.
I love the white – no milkman I ever had looked so good! However, white on a regular basis get so dirty in my business that I refrain from wearing it there. Mostly patterns and black for me. And washable! I really like the styling, very chic!
Thanks Kathleen
Oh No, poor husband! Hope all heals well.
I also love all white. I do prefer a medium weight linen top so I can avoid a tank top. I have seen low necklines on some linen tops which I can never understand…..kinda defeats the purpose of keeping cool with breathable linen.

I like the look, but when I wear white pants, dirt (or art supplies….) jump right onto me.
