The Best B Corps to Support and Shop
I’m always on the lookout for brands that align with my values. Lately, I’ve been reading up on the world of B Corps. Short for Benefit Corporations, these companies are at the forefront of balancing profit with purpose. Today I’m sharing what makes B Corps so special and why they deserve your attention (and dollars). I’m also sharing a list of the best B Corps that are not only making a real impact in the world, but also offer fantastic products I think you’ll love!
What is the meaning of B Corp?
A B Corp, or Benefit Corporation, is a company that cares about its impact on the community and the environment. These businesses “prioritize people and our planet in everything they do” by integrating values like fair wages, positive community impact, and environmental sustainability into their core operations while proving that making money doesn’t have to come at the expense of workers’ rights or the planet’s well-being.
To earn a B Corp certification, each business has to go through a rigorous certification process by the nonprofit B Lab. This certification isn’t easy to get, and it involves a thorough assessment of the company’s impact on its workers, customers, community, and the environment. Think of it like a holistic report card that measures the company’s overall social and environmental performance.
When you buy from a B Corp, you’re supporting a company that is actively working to make a positive impact on the world. It’s a great way to align your values with your purchasing power and feel good about where your money is going.

The Best B Corp Beauty & Accessory Brands to Support:
Sunday Riley

I heard a lot about Sunday Riley products when I was covering Amazon Prime Day last month. This skincare brand sells a lot of high-performance, science-backed products that deliver visible results, making them fan favorites. Some of their most popular products are their Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment and their C.E.O. Glow face oil.

Retin A is too strong for my neck and chest, but that skin still needs all the help I can give it, so I’ve been using this A+ Retinoid serum for 2 months, and I love it. The Luna oil is something I’ve used off and on for years. It also contains retinoids in a gentle oil form that I layer on after my moisturizer has soaked in. I just started using their C.E.O. Vitamin C and will keep you posted on how it goes.
Ethique

This hair and skin brand is all about zero-waste, solid beauty bars, including shampoos, conditioners, and cleansers. Their eco-friendly approach helps reduce plastic waste, and their products are made from natural ingredients that are kind to both your skin and the environment.

EO Products

EO is known for its natural and organic personal care products, offering everything from essential oils to body care items. The French Lavender hand soap has been our bathroom sink staple for as long as I can remember. They focus on creating high-quality, eco-friendly products that are kind to both people and the planet. I also swear by the hand sanitizers and never travel without this pack of wipes.
Dr. Bronner’s
Dr. Bronner’s is famous for its versatile and organic Castile soaps, with a strong commitment to social and environmental causes. Their products are made with fair trade ingredients and come with a message of sustainability and ethical practices.

Do you have any B Corps you love to support and shop to add to the list?

Thank you for this list, Jennifer. I have not tried all of these brands. The brands I have tried are both responsible and provide a good quality product.
Also, love that more manufacturers are using recycled materials, including poly, to limit dumping.
Ben & Jerry’s has been involved in a number of controversies over the years, including a child labor scandal in early 2023:
Child labor
In early 2023, The New York Times found that some of Ben & Jerry’s suppliers were employing illegal migrant children. A lawsuit was filed against the company, claiming that it misrepresented its ethical commitments to consumers and profited from the children’s labor. Ben & Jerry’s head of values-led sourcing, Cheryl Pinto, said that if migrant children needed to work full time, it was better for them to have jobs in well-monitored workplaces.
Thank you for this important post, Jennifer. Because I am asthmatic, several years ago, I replaced all my household cleaners with Dr. Bronner’s Sal Suds. As you use 1 tablespoon in a quart of water, this goes a long way. Not only do I breathe easier and save money, the cleaner is biodegradable and cruelty free.
Good info! Thank you, Jennifer. Will also keep it for reference.
Like your checked dress with pants? Leggings? under it. Love the idea but haven’t found the right item. Can you tell me what you’re wearing underneath?
I’m just wearing slim jeggings. The dress is quite old
jennifer, this is off todays topic, but you posted recently about a product you use that you like…..Fermented Complex 94 Boosting Essence by Purito.
I ordered some but there are no instructions on how to use it. How do YOU use it??? Enjoy your posts!!
I apply right after washing before any serums or lotions
I love that you compiled this list for your readers and I will keep it for reference. One other piece of info I would like to know is where are the products manufactured?
I love when brands tell us that without having to look at the tag
Thank you for the heads up on the Eileen Fisher discounted crepe pants in your “Travel Outfit Inspiration!” I have wanted to purchase EF travel pants that you have recommended , but couldn’t afford them at full price. Today was the day, purchased at 46% off!
They are my favorite travel pants. So glad you got them
Love this post! Supporting B corps is so important. For books, consider ordering from bookshop.org. They are a B Corp and they will donate a portion of the sale proceeds to your favorite independent bookstore! A win all the way around and so much better than buying from Amazon.
Very interesting and important post today. B corps are doing amazing work to protect our environment . Thanks for providing so many options.
Thank you Melissa.
Thanks for highlighting these! We need more companies like them
I can recommend Encircled, a Canadian women’s clothing company based in Toronto. They are a Certified B Corporation that is a female-founded company that designs and manufactures a variety of clothing ideal for work, travel and leisure.
Awesome, thanks Debbie
I love this post and will keep it for reference. Important considerations for sure! Thanks
Thank you for educating us to these companies worthy of our dollars. I will return to this list repeatedly.
Thanks Jennifer, this is a great list! I too like to support companies that share my values. Two B. Corp companies to add are MZ Wallace bags and Room and Board Furniture. Both offer quality products and excellent customer service.
Awesome! I did not know MZ Wallace was a B-corp.
I love products from the Unscented Company https://unscentedco.com/ for body lotion, laundry soap and related home and personal products. They are women-owned, based in Montreal and also have stores stocked in the US – their website lists them. I can’t do laundry with a scented product anymore!
Thanks for letting us know. They look like a fabulous company, Mary
Yes to so many of these choices! Thank you!
I remember when Aesop first began in Melbourne, Australia back in the late 1980s, what a success story. As for Ben & Jerrys, weren’t they accused of violating child labor laws a couple of years ago and their anti Israel boycott (even before October 7) means I would never buy their ice-cream even if I liked it.
You may be right about that. So many fast fashion brands do that too, and we buy without even being aware of it.
Ben and Jerry’s has also been a NO for me, based on their anti-Israel stance. Tried Warby Parker this past year and am very pleased with their product, price, and customer service.
