Weekend Reading 06.06.26
Happy weekend, ladies. It’s been a week of bizarre temperatures here. One day, a tee is enough, the next, I need a sweater. I really hate being cold, so I wear sandals as a nod to the season, with layers and sleeves on top.

It’s not full-on Juneuary here in Vancouver, but it’s also not a warm summer…yet. We did roll the portable air conditioners up from storage, but that turned out to have been wishful thinking.
Bestsellers this week, what you loved:
- My Open Edit white cotton bubble midi skirt…which I haven’t managed to snap a photo of for you yet. I own 2 white bubble skirts and just adore how fun they feel to wear. This one is less than half the price of my other one, and looks identical.
- No one will be surprised to hear that my cushioned, stable, low platform wedge sandals were the biggest seller again this week. I’m glad I bought the black pair too because they go with so much of my wardrobe. So many readers have written to report they love how comfy they are, too!
- My Tommy Bahama embroidered dress is also still flying out the door. It’s such a great piece, you could even wear it as a bathing suit cover-up if you like.
- These Ippolita Drop Earrings from Nordstrom Rack were also a bestseller last week. I love this brand, which is designed by a woman. I caved and bought the Chianti! Yes, a red earring…I couldn’t help myself, and I refuse to justify them. Sometimes, you just know.
- This gorgeous Trellis Outdoor Rug was also very popular this week. I shared my beige one a few weeks ago, and you ladies went crazy for the trellis pattern… which has me rethinking my choice! Remember, you can use code AWSL 15 to save 15% off.
- This Relief Eby bra was also a big seller this week. I’m not well-endowed, but I insist that my bras be comfortable. This one is wireless and amazingly comfortable. It’s quickly become the bra I reach for above all others.
Picks from the weekend sales:
CHICO’S has a great sale this week with 40% off two or more full-priced items and select styles starting at $39.
- This no-iron tie-dye linen shirt would look great with some white shorts or over a casual skirt.
- This is exactly the type of airy cardigan I like to tie over my sleeveless tops and dresses.
- I think this obrè striped dress looks perfect for a cruise or traveling! You could even top it with the cardigan above.
- I love the look of these striped boyfriend jeans, and the hem is finished… yay!
SOFT SURROUNDINGS has some lovely things on sale this weekend:
EILEEN FISHER’s sale section is full of goodies. Here’s what I spotted on sale:
- This terrific cotton poplin shirt that I bought a few months ago is now marked down in several colors. I bought a petite, but I should have bought the regular because my arms are long.
- This is the perfect time of year for a gorgeous Peruvian cotton sweater, which comes in 3 colors.
- These washable knit silk tanks are my favorite layering piece…all year round, so I love to snap them up on sale.
- I have this ponte blazer in blue and wear it all. the. time! Now on sale in black or white.
ANN TAYLOR summer event is on with 40% off your purchase.
COLDWATER CREEK has some bestsellers on sale:
TALBOTS always has a great sale running on the weekend. Here’s what caught my eye:
In case you missed it:
- Why your travel wardrobe should look like you.
- Talbots early summer try-on.
- How to dress confidently over 60.
- What to pack for a cruise…my personal formula.
Have a fabulous weekend, and be sure to wear what makes you feel confident.

Definitely Juneuary today in Vancouver but glad for the soaking rain because the local forests were so dry. But, the rain makes for a good day to hit the mall for dress shopping to attend 2 very different weddings. One is a backyard, informal, family wedding. The second and is formal at a yacht club.
I’m fascinated by the hat rack you have in the picture. Where can I get one??
Wayfair has a similar one here. I just painted the back wooden piece the same color of our wall so it would blend in.
Jennifer, I am also interested in your wall mounted hat rack. Do you mind reposting the link?
Here’s the hat rack.
Do you live in downtown Vancouver? My husband and I are vacationing in Vancouver and love the city. Would you recommend for living full-time?
We do and I love it
What size did you take in the bubble skirt? Love it! Thanks
Small, but remember, I have straight hips and zero backside so I always order down in skirts.
