Weekend Reading 12.06.25
Happy weekend! We are having rain, fog, cool temps, but no snow yet. I always hope to see a tiny bit while we’re up in Vancouver, but it may not materialize this trip. This is what I wore for a day that included Christmas shopping, a stop into the local bookstore and coffee at one of our favorite spots.

I’ve had some questions lately about how to find the items I’m wearing or talking about. You can shop the pieces I’m wearing by clicking the words in the captions, or anywhere they’re linked in the text. They’ll take you straight to the item, and if you purchase, I may earn a small commission at no cost to you. Thanks so much for supporting my business!
Bestsellers this week:
- This Quince cashmere duster flew out the door this week! Mine arrived in Heather Grey, and I’ve already worn it twice.
- My fabulous new zippered tote. I ordered the Jade, but I don’t know which colors my readers are ordering. It’s the perfect size and holds a lot without being too large.
- This flattering-looking Cotton Cashmere A-line sweater midi, which is on its way to me, too. I sure hope it fits!
- These Tennis Trio earrings were a bestseller and may be going under many readers’ trees this season. I’m wearing the smallest carat size in the above photo. These little huggies were a close second.
- This customizable needlepoint Christmas stocking is still selling like crazy. The two I ordered have arrived and are gorgeous. Now they’re marked way down!
- These Frame Le Sleek classic straight leg jeans have been very popular this week! I own them in 2 washes and love the fit.
Weekend Sales…they are plentiful…here are a few favs:
- CHICO’S has 40% off new Zenergy and sweaters until Monday. This sweater looks so fresh in frosted mint. And how fun is this Faux Fur capelet? I wonder how it would look over a chambray shirt with tonal jeans. Of course, their cashmere sweaters are included in the sale, and it’s a clever place to start.
- LANDSEND is a reader favorite and is currently giving 50% off almost everything. I own 4 of their jacket in various weights and love them! They offer sizes XXS-4X with petites here, as well as Plus sizes here, and many in tall.
- NORDSTROM’S sale section has some treasures. My Paul Green Bixby Platform sneakers are marked down. They are incredibly comfortable. My new Vionic Booties are now on sale, too. Okay, these Dearfoams aren’t on sale, but they’re so cute!
- EILEEN FISHER always has a sale with great discounts on color from the older collections and prior seasons.
- LOFT has 50% everything plus free shipping. I love the look of this balloon-sleeve tunic sweater, but I wouldn’t belt it the way they did…just saying. This relaxed velvet blazer is fun and also comes in petite and tall sizes.
- TALBOTS is giving 50% off one item and 40% off everything else with the code CELEBRATE. This cashmere cardigan is gorgeous in both shades…but the lilac especially caught my eye. I just love the cool-toned, soft fair-isle colors in this sweater. This whimsical sweater has been very popular with our community, too.

Have a fabulous weekend and do something nice for yourself!

Enjoy your time in Vancouver even if it doesn’t snow. We finally got 5.5” and it is slowly melting off. It is very windy as we get the weather from the west moving in. We will put up our decorations tomorrow. Hope there is less wind. We have a walkin closet but my husband actually has more clothes than I do. I purge at least twice a year when I switch out seasonal clothes. When I can’t get another thing in my drawers or closet, I really need to purge. I also need to stop buying new clothes! The sales tempted me but only for things I really needed to replace. I keep things forever. So does Brent!
I tend to do a closet clean out when I notice too many similar items. I’d rather have one really nice than 4 similar, just okay items.
Hi Jennifer-
I do always wonder when I see you in your fabulous outfits-how big is your closet???? Do you have any rules like if you buy something new, you get rid of something old? I know you have 2 places, so that helps spread the clothing out, but still, you must have a huge closet!!!!
Both closets are ridiculously small. Especially in Vancouver. I do edit my clothes and footwear pretty often and donate. And I do use half of the guest room closet in California for off season clothes. I try to follow the rule of one in one out. But it’s doesn’t always work evenly. Sometimes it’s one in and three out.
