What to Buy from Quince: Favorite Pieces I Own and Love
With so many brands raising prices without raising their quality, Quince feels like a bit of a quiet rebellion. They focus on the basics in natural fabrics, timeless cuts, and prices that don’t make you second-guess yourself.
I’ve tried several of their pieces over the years in linen, silk, and cashmere…and they’ve all held up better than I expected. Today I’m sharing a few standouts that strike the right balance of quality and simplicity, especially if you’re looking to add something useful (and wearable) to your summer wardrobe without chasing trends.
Why I Love Quince
If you haven’t come across Quince yet, they quietly focus on what many of us are looking for..natural fabrics, classic shapes, and prices that feel fair. The quality holds up, but the cost doesn’t make your eyebrows jump. In a sea of brands raising prices without raising standards, it’s a bit of a relief.
My Most-Worn and Used Quince Pieces
Transit Quilted Duffle Bag

My daughter has had her eye on this Quilted Duffle Bag for months, so I surprised her by ordering it. When it arrived, I liked it so much that I instantly swiped it for our trip down to Washington state a few weeks ago. It has the same sleek, quilted finish and sporty shape as the MZ Wallace bags, but at a much better price. Of course, that’s the beauty of Quince… quality pieces at wallet-friendly prices, because they’re a direct-to-consumer brand. The fabric is super lightweight, so although it’s roomy, it weighs nothing!
It has lots of internal and external pockets, plus a trolley sleeve that slips over your suitcase handle. I packed a ton of things in this bag for our weekend away, so I know it’s a perfect size for a handheld carry-on. I gave hers back and plan to order one for myself.
Italian Leather Handwoven Satchel

I’ve admired Bottega’s woven bags for years but never wanted to spring for one, so when I spotted this Italian Leather Handwoven Satchel, I thought I’d give it a try. The leather is beautifully soft with a subtle sheen, and the handwoven texture gives it a classic, artisan feel. Woven leather is a nice option for summer because it lightens the look of the leather.
The size is just right for daily use, and it holds a lot without feeling oversized or bulky. I like that it comes with both top handles and a detachable strap so you can carry it hands-free if needed. I got the cognac, but I wish I had gotten the taupe. It also comes in black or ivory. All 4 are great classic neutrals for a bag.
Linen Shirt and Wide Leg Pants

This linen look is exactly the kind of outfit I reach for when I want to look pulled together without overthinking it. A matching set instantly says “polished” with very little effort…and when it’s hot, my effort level is usually pretty low.
I bought this Linen Short Sleeve Shirt in black several years ago and have worn it to death, so this spring I bought the beige. I love its relaxed, structured shape that works beautifully either buttoned up or worn open over a tank, like I’ve done here. It’s made from 100% European flax linen, and it has a naturally lived-in texture that gets softer every time you wash it.
The Linen Wide Leg Pants seem more like a straight leg than a wide leg to me, and are just as comfortable as they look. They have a soft elastic waistband with a drawstring and deep pockets, which I always appreciate. They come in 6 colors with inseams of 26, 28, or 30″. I’m wearing the 28.

Cashmere Cardigan

I have several of these Mongolian Cashmere Boyfriend Cardigans and love to give them as gifts at Christmas. When I spotted it in this denim blue, I couldn’t resist it. The oversized fit is slouchy and comfy but not overly voluminous. I’m wearing it with these Patch Pocket jeans, which were a nice surprise to me. The denim is soft and stretchy in a lovely wash for summer. They come in a 26, and 28″ inseam, and I’m wearing a 28.
Cashmere Hoodie

I bought this cashmere hoodie for our trip to the Redwoods last year and found it the perfect weight. It comes in 7+ colors and has amazing reviews. It’s a wonderful weight for layering under a blazer (which looks sharp) or as a third layer over my Quince cashmere tees. These T’s are a bit like Lay’s potato chips…it’s hard just to have one. My lavender color seems to be sold out, but it comes in 13 other colors.
Cotton Gauze Tiered Maxi Dress

This Tiered Maxi Dress is one of my newer Quince pieces, and I’m really enjoying it. I’m a huge fan of cotton gauze in the summer because it breathes and never needs ironing. It can be rather sheer in lighter colors, so I prefer darker colors to prevent show-through, and this navy fits the bill perfectly. The 100% cotton gauze fabric is soft, lightweight, and skims the body without clinging. The tiered shape isn’t usually my vibe, but the color and weight are so perfect that I’ve worn it quite a bit. The V-neckline is very flattering without feeling too revealing, and the wide straps cover my bra straps.
I’ve styled it here with a printed scarf from my wardrobe archive and my new Naot sandals, which are amazingly comfy. It’s the kind of dress you can wear casually or dress up a bit, depending on your accessories.
Not sure about going sleeveless? You’re not alone. I wrote about how I handle that here: Sleeveless Dresses When You Don’t Love Your Arms
Quince Washable Silk

Their washable silk is pretty amazing. Their silk skirts come in two lengths…this maxi length (which I’m wearing here in Champagne) and knee-length, which I have in chocolate. They’re both a pull-on style with a wide elastic waistband that lays flat. I rolled the maxi waistband over twice to get the exact length I wanted, and it stayed in place, so no hemming was required.
This 100% Organic Cotton Fisherman Boxy Cropped Cardigan is a great piece that I wear year-round. It comes in 7 colors and one stripe.
These skirts are not only beautiful and soft but also wash like a dream, which means no dry-cleaning hassle. This maxi skirt comes in 6 colors, and the knee-length is available in 11 colors plus a leopard print.

Most of the slip skirts I see brands selling are made of polyester, labeled as satin, but these ones are real silk, so they breathe and are more comfortable. I’m wearing the brown one with this color-coordinating silk cami, which comes in 9 colors plus leopard print.
Fit and Sizing Notes
I find Quince generally runs true to size. Some of the looser-fitting pieces, like the linen pants and dresses, are intentionally relaxed, so I wouldn’t size down unless you prefer a closer fit. Their website does a decent job of offering measurements and fit notes, which I always recommend checking before ordering.
Frequently Asked Questions About Quince
How does Quince quality compare to other brands?
Quince pieces feel very comparable to some higher-end brands I’ve worn. The linen softens with every wash, the silk has a lovely drape, and the cashmere is soft without being too delicate. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well everything holds up.
Are the Quince colors true to what you see online?
So far, yes. The neutrals have all looked consistent in person. Keep in mind that lighting and screen settings can vary, but nothing has arrived looking drastically different.
Is shipping fast?
Shipping has been reasonably quick on everything I’ve ordered…usually under a week. They offer free standard shipping on all orders, which is a nice touch.
Are returns really free and easy?
Yes. Quince offers free returns for 365 days, and the process is simple. I’ve only returned one item and had no issues at all.
Does Quince offer petite sizes?
Not yet, but hope springs eternal. Some of their styles work well for shorter frames, and some pants come with varying inseams.
Quince has become a go-to for me when I’m looking for well-made pieces that are versatile, easy to wear, and budget-friendly. I’ve tried everything from their linen sets to silk tops and cashmere, and the quality has been solid across the board. If you’re trying to simplify your wardrobe with pieces that feel good, hold up over time, and don’t scream “last season,” they’re worth checking out.
Have you tried anything from Quince yet?

2 years ago I bought a silk blouse (Ivory) and a v-neck cashmere sweater. Love them, no issues. Now I see you in the hoodie and i’ll order that. Better prices than the pricer brands, nice quality. Thank you for the reminder.
Quince is a fantastic source for high-quality clothes and accessories. Their return policy and customer service are excellent. I have bought generic cashmere sweaters, blouses, bags, etc. and have been impressed. However, I do have some qualms about their “appropriation” of certain distinctive styles of other companies, especially if they are contemporary small or women-owned companies like Lo and Sons or MZ Wallace. I understand that customers love less pricey dupes, but it doesn’t quite feel right. I wonder what your take is on that.
I’ve noticed similarities across the board. Many brands “knock off” each other so it’s not just Quince. My new Talbots bag is a dead ringer for my Claire V. Quince does produce a high quality product at a better price which many women appreciate.
FYI – I truly appreciate all aspects of your blog!
Just thought I’d share that your pictures were in this article: lifestyle/lifestyle-buzz/15-parisian-inspired-looks-that-might-be-aging-women-over-50-and-3-common-styling-errors-to-avoid/ss-AA1IF5Zp?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531&cvid=c06451296f4c473787b64d733a50be81&ei=32#image=19#comments
Thanks for letting me know. Sadly our images are stolen all the time! It so sad and frustrating
Wow! They have cutlery? Knives? Mine are so old I don’t even know their age. I love my sweaters even though I have to roll up the cuffs, I’m 5’1” tall. I have to roll everything anyway. I also love my linen pajamas in navy which I wear as a set for regular wear. Very soft and lovely to wear. I love Quince!
I have avoided Quince because I don’t wear cashmere and that’s what I associated them with. Today I ordered that gauze dress in the blue/white stripe, so I guess I’m not avoiding Quince anymore.
I hope you’ll love it Kay
I’m impressed with the quality of the European linen shirts. Bought the camp shirt in white and the popover in white and blue. I’m short waisted so I can tuck in the popover. I have severe scoliosis and own two of the swing dressing navy and black. Based on your post I purchased the sweater and the gauze dress. Thank you for the great finds and advice they have helped me transition my wardrobe from business to a more relaxed style.
Hope you shake your cold!
Thanks Sherry!
Just can’t say enough about how I love Quince. And where did I first come across it? On your blog, Jennifer. You’ve done us all a great service by recommending good quality clothes at affordable prices. Love their gauze and linen clothing and have the navy gauze tiered dress that you are wearing. A couple of years ago, I ordered their down pillows. What a find! By far, they have become my favorites and have given me some of the best sleep. Also want to recommend their crocheted hobo bag, too. Beautifully made and priced reasonably. In an era of cheaply made, high-priced clothing, Quince is definitely a win-win!
Down pillows?? Oh my, we need to replace ours. Thanks Nan.
I love Quince! I think I first heard about them from you and I have loved everything I’ve received. I got their cute blue & white striped linen sheets, my first try at linen bedding, and I love them. I did wash them several times before using them and they are very nice. I’ve ordered a blanket which is to arrive tomorrow, so I’ll see how that goes. All the clothes have fit perfectly, with great quality and at reasonable pricing. Thank you for sharing their items. I hope you’re feeling better, and sorry you had to travel with ill people that didn’t have the consideration to mask up, on a plane of all places!
I need new bedding so I’m going to order now! Thanks Deby
I like everything I have ever ordered and the return policy is very good.
The sheets are the best and have held up better than other top brands. I gave all mine away and kept only the ones from Quince !
I must order them!
Hi, Jennifer –
My doctor told me that it’s not the actual air in the airplane that might make you sick. Airplanes use a filtration system that is highly effective, capturing 99.97% of airborne particles. It’s the number of people from everywhere that you might encounter in an airport, sometimes in close quarters standing in line or touching surfaces.
Hope you’re feeling better.
I just watched a YouTube about Quince leather totes. Wirecutter magazine sent a tote to a leather expert to deconstruct. He found the “top grain Italian leather” was plastic coated suede. Now I’m afraid to try any of their products. Are those low prices too good to be true?
I haven’t seen that, but I will check it out.
I love Quince for quality and price. I bought a linen dress this year and love it. I also like their bedding. One question for you. Can you wear linen in the fall during warm weather in the desert? I have a trip planned to the desert and am wondering if I should bring my linen pieces.
Absolutely you can and should! I usually wear darker color linen but for the desert, any and every color works.
I am pleased with everything Quince. Delivery is super fast and there has been no issue with quality. On the rare occasion returns have been smooth and painless. I’m 5’4” so pant length might be off (once). As a forever Chico gal will add Quince for practical comfort and casual wear at a more reasonable price.
