2026 Memorial Day Sales: New Arrivals and Sale Finds
Memorial Day sales get a massive amount of hype. Forty percent off everything sounds incredibly appealing, right up until those packages arrive and you realize nothing actually works together.
To avoid the “buy now, regret later” dilemma, the better approach is to start with what is modern and actually useful, making the sale price the secondary consideration. I’ve looked through the options to pull together the specific pieces that are genuinely worth your attention across several brands.
Tommy Bahama: Earn a $50 Award for every $175 you spend
Before I left for my trip, I stopped into Tommy Bahama for a small try-on to see what was new for warm weather. I also wanted to get a clear look before the Memorial Day sale excitement started whispering, “You need this,” from every browser tab.

I tried on this Sunset Harbor Embroidered 3/4 Sleeve Dress in the store and promptly brought it home for my trip to Singapore. It’s a soft navy, which I found great for hot weather because I could skip a slip 🙂

This Sunset Harbor Dress is a lightweight cotton jersey with a lace inset along the hemline and sleeves. It flows over the body, allowing airflow, and comes in white as well as this light Margarita green.
- Love this Raffia Traveler Tote bag that’ll hold either your hat or your pool towel.
Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale is on, and it’s one I always shop!
- My Nic+Zoe Linen Cropped cardi is a perfect piece for summer.
- My Frame Le Sleek Straight Jeans are a soft stretch denim with a high-rise.
- These Hokas are 20% off, and always a comfy fit for my persnickety feet.
Lands End Memorial Day Sale has 50% off sitewide.
If you want to shop, I’d suggest doing it early. This is one of their biggest sales, and styles tend to sell out, especially swimsuits.

The Lands’ End Chino Short is another favorite on sale, long enough to dress up with low-heeled sandals and a blazer, or to pair down with a tee.
Chico’s Summer Kickoff Event with Styles Starting at $29 + 50% Off Sale
You can see my latest try-on from early May in this post: Chico’s Try-On: Summer Outfits in Linen, Cotton, and Easy Pull-On Pants.
- This Embellished Linen/Cotton Dress has a slight A-line shape, and the sleeves fold up with a button tab to keep in place.
- I picked up this long striped linen duster before my trip and really like how it layers.
- This Sea Island Maxi Skirt is great for warm weather and would pack beautifully.
Talbots: 40% off Your Highest Regular-Price Item and 30% Off Your Remaining Regular-Price Merchandise
Talbots just dropped their new summer collection, and it’s full of color — think vacation-ready, tropical prints made for actually wearing somewhere warm. If you’ve been looking for pieces that commit to the season, this is worth a look.
- These 9 inch shorts are one of those easy staples that always work. They come in multiple lengths, depending on how much coverage you want.
- These Cotton Gauze Straight Crop Pull-On Pants in Indigo are a practical warm-weather bottom with a straight leg, elasticized waist, and an indigo wash.
- I was also surprised at how many dresses Talbots has right now! There is something for everyone, from shift styles to linen shirtdresses and maxis.
J.Crew Factory has 50% off everything, including new arrivals.

You can shop my latest try on, where many of the items are currently on sale.
- This J.Crew Factory Gauze Popover Top looks fabulous!
- This Striped Knit Collared Mini Dress in ivory and black is a classic.
J. Crew has 40% off and 50% off swim.
Ruggable has up to 25% off rugs, runners, and more this weekend.

- Their washable bath mats are a great price.
- Their outdoor rugs are worth a look, too.
EBY is having a buy-one-get-one-free sale on their bras.
I reordered 3 of these Relief Bras. They’re amazing, comfortable, and invisible under my white T-shirts. Then I remembered how fabulous these panties are, so I reordered a few new pairs.
One last thing before you click “add to cart” on everything: a good sale is only a good deal if you’d actually wear it. If you’re buying it just because it’s cheap, that’s not saving money, that’s just spending it faster.

I have been guilty of settling on something just because it’s on sale. Now I’m trying to only buy and keep items that I absolutely love otherwise I end up with a closet full of things that never get worn. Now, the problem is that I have a hard time finding things that I really love. Shopping whether on-line or in store is exhausting!!
I had decided I needed no more sandals this year (I don’t) but I bought a pair from Lands End that are close to the ones you have on in your picture wearing Lands End attire and I have hardly taken them off since they arrived at my house.
Comfort is key for shoes! Great find.
Love the very last line of this post. So true. I now ask myself if I would buy it at full price. If I don’t have a firm yes then it isn’t being bought. I wont be shopping these sales since I am Canadian but I did enjoy some Victoria Day sales last weekend. Have you looked at FDJ French Dressing Jeans or Charlie B collections. Perhaps that is something you can check out when you are living the Canadian part of your life. Thanks for your hard work and your true honesty.
I will!
I always remember my friend telling me, Buy one, get 50% off another is essentially 25% off. Not the best deal.
Great items Jennifer! Thank you.
Exactly! Many brands can do better than that.
