6 Best Summer Fashion Finds from Kohl’s for Women Over 50

I’m delighted to partner with Kohl’s again today to share what I’d consider some of the best pieces to buy this summer 2025, especially if you’re over 50 and looking for stylish, well-made staples that won’t break the bank. These are the kinds of finds that blend into your real wardrobe, hold up to everyday wear, and still feel current.
I don’t believe in buying inexpensive clothes that fall apart after a few washes—it’s a waste of time, money, and closet space. The Kohl’s pieces I’ve added to my wardrobe over the years have held up beautifully, season after season.
And here’s a little secret: when I’m curious about a trend and want to test the waters, Kohl’s is often the first place I look. It allows me to experiment without making a big investment, and my wallet always appreciates that.
Today, I’m highlighting a few classic pieces that caught my eye, as well as one fun trend I decided to try. I can confidently recommend all these pieces for your summer wardrobe.
1. FLX Quilted Bag
Quilted bags are everywhere this season, and I can see why. They weigh next to nothing, so you can fill them up without feeling like you’re hauling luggage. That said, not all of them are created equal, and some versions I’ve seen feel flimsy or tear easily.
This FLX quilted bag is a different story. It feels well made, holds its shape, and comes in five great colors. I especially appreciate the side zip pocket, which makes it easy to stow your phone or keys. It’s functional, lightweight, and stylish…a rare trio and definitely a keeper.
2. Levi’s Bootcut Jeans
I also wanted to highlight these Levi’s Classic Bootcut jeans. Bootcut is one of the most universally flattering fits for women of all shapes. That slight flare below the knee helps balance hips, lengthen the leg line, and creates a smoother visual flow, regardless of your shape. They’re timeless, easy to style, and a welcome break from all the cropped styles flooding the stores.
Petite jeans are usually too short for me, but these are the perfect length. They’re long enough to wear with booties in the fall, yet not so long that they drag with sandals or sneakers right now. That’s the beauty of having inseam options; whether you’re petite, tall, or somewhere in between, there’s likely a length that works without needing a trip to the tailor. These come in nine washes (mine is called Lapis Awe) and three inseam lengths: short (30”), medium (32”), and long (34”).
3. Nine West Black Eyelet A-Line Midi Skirt
I’ve been eyeing the eyelet trend for a while now (no pun intended), but most versions felt a bit too precious for my taste, and too expensive. Sweet details are lovely, but I prefer them grounded with a little edge, and black does just that.
When I spotted this Nine West A-line midi skirt, it struck the right balance. It’s a chance to try the trend in a well-made piece at a great price. It’s also now on clearance, so I may get the white one to wear on warm-weather holidays. I chose a size medium and probably could have gone with a small, but when it’s hot, the last thing I want is tight clothes.
It’s fully lined (so no see-through worries), with a wide, pull-on elastic waistband, has side pockets (I love that), and it’s effortless and breezy.
4. Croft & Barrow Striped V-Neck Tee
You can never have too many great tees—especially when they’re this soft, flattering, and budget-friendly. I’m wearing the Croft & Barrow Essential V-Neck Tee in a beautiful cornflower blue and white stripe above and a classic black-and-white stripe with this skirt.
It comes in 38 color and pattern options, which makes it easy to stock up or try something new. The cotton blend is incredibly soft, retains its shape, and feels great against the skin. I’ve spent a lot more on “the perfect tee” over the years, but you really don’t have to to get quality.
And if you’re anything like me, you might find your tees yellow or get damaged by sunscreen over the summer, so it’s nice to be able to refresh your collection without overspending.
5. Sonoma Goods for Life Ecru Denim Jacket
This Sonoma Goods for Life Denim Jacket is pure classic. The soft, off-white color, more ecru than bright white, makes it incredibly versatile, and the silver buttons are a subtle, lovely touch that gives it a slightly more refined feel.
It’s made from a cotton, polyester, and spandex blend, so it has just enough stretch to be comfortable without losing that traditional denim structure. I’m wearing a size medium, and it fits well through the shoulders with room to layer a light sweater underneath. It also comes in petite here.

Do you think the thick ankle strap shortens the leg? I’m sure ones foot feels secure in a sandal with an ankle strap and as we get older that becomes a necessity.
Yes, it does, as do any shoes that covers the top of the foot vs a lower vamp. I still wear them though 🙂

I love Kohls! For all my basics this is where I shop. If I need a basic like white, black, gray tees. I know I can always find them there. White tees last one season for me. They also carry great bra and panty lines. That black eyelet skirt and tee look great on you. My white denim jacket came from Kohls, I’ve had it for about 5 years, looks as good as the day I bought it.

I also seek out lower priced items to try new trends, and sometimes I never bother/need to upgrade! The black eyelet skirt is outstanding! I’m wearing my own today from H and M. Kohls is also great for menswear and sports brands. I buy a lot of Adidas there. They even carry those Farm Rio collaborations online. Also a great place to shop Lands Ens and not have to pay hefty return shipping if something doesn’t fit. The prices are a little higher than on LE’s website. I don’t care for all of Kohls gimmicks, Kohls cash, etc., but I guess it works for them. In smaller cities it’s one of the few B and M stores available.
