Classic Camel Coat Over a Column of Black
Classics and neutrals have always been the backbone of my wardrobe. I find them the most cost-effective way to dress which allows me to wear pieces year after year. Today I’m styling a classic camel coat. All the other pieces of my outfit are classic too which makes it an easy look to replicate by shopping from your closet.

I started with a simple turtleneck. In truth, this one is very deep navy but as close to black as you can get. Nothing keeps me warmer in chilly weather so I wear them a lot.

I’m wearing them with my straight black jeans which I’ve had for years. Trends will change but a straight leg jean is always in style because… you guessed it, they’re classic. Mine have been washed more times than I can count but because they’re Talbots never-fade black, they are still pure black.

You may remember this scarf from several other times I’ve worn it. I fell in love the first time I spotted it. Then I waited and saved, and saved some more… before I finally bit the bullet and made the investment. Treasures are worth waiting for and I love it all the more for waiting. To be honest, I would rather have one fabulous scarf than 3 mediocre ones.

This dark turtleneck could be harsh against my complexion so I love how the scarf adds a pop of light. The pattern also picks up the camel from my coat, my complexion color, and has a few of my favorite blues.

I kept my jewelry extremely simple with just these twisted silver hoops which were a Christmas present from my daughter. I love them so much, I have to make myself not wear them every day.

My boots are plain and simple (similar boots)making them the perfect option to cover my ankles when it’s too cold for a ballet flat. Let’s not forget my hat. For me, they are an almost every day accessory. There’s no point in trying to treat sun damage and rack more up as you go:)

I used to have a camel coat I loved. Since I seldom leave the house these days, I can’t justify replacing it. You look fabulous in yours!
I love the look of a classic camel coat but my lifestyle just doesn’t warrant the investment. My version of the style these days is the camel color wool lined Carhartt ranch jacket! I liked everything about your outfit today.
The look of camel and black is stunning but doesn’t go with my naturally shocking white hair, even with a scarf. I though have a similar white coat that would fit perfectly with the rest of your outfit.
Camel coats remind me of my mom, who insisted a well dressed woman must have one or two. She was right and they’re my favorite for a classic, elegantly casual look. I love yours paired with black and your gorgeous scarf. xo
As Zsa Zsa ( Gabor) would quip, “you look simply mar-velous dahling” …. 😌. Don’t have a camel coat myself but do have a blazer that is my absolute favorite and agree, ‘camel’ is classic!

I love this look on you and I want it. ❤️
The look is so classic, I do remember having a camel hair coat years back and I always felt perfect in it. You look perfect for every occasion, especially with the hat.
The camel coat is a timeless classic. It is so stunning on you and the black accessories just add to the style.
That hat is perfect along with the scarf.
Just gorgeous, my dear. 😀
I agree with others. You look stunning in this combination. Scarf is beautiful addition as is your hat. I do wish I could wear a hat as well as you do. I’ve already decided those earrings are going to be my birthday present to myself this year! Thank you for your posts.
I think you’ll love them too!
Camel and black have always been a favorite of mine. My camel wool coat and camel trench have stood the test of time. Your scarf is lovely and I so wish I were able to wear hats! Alas, unless it’s a ball cap or a ski helmet, count me out.
Love your coat! Camel is the best neutral; goes with black, navy, grays, browns – everything – making it a best choice for an investment piece. The double-breasted cut is a bonus, wraps nicely to keep out the breeze. For those who aren’t fond of camel, that’s where a scarf can fill in your “flattering color.” I have many scarves, thin/thick, patterned/plain. For me, living in SoCal, scarves are a must-have. Turtlenecks? Not so much; a great look, but too much heat. I found a black sweater-knit turtleneck dickey this winter, giving me the look without the sweat 🙂 I enjoy your posts, thank you!
Love the Camel Coat with Scarf and Boots, I also love to wear my Camel Coat and Boots
Fabulous, one of my favourite classic looks!
Love your look. I have a wool camel coat that is really classic. They never go out of style. Will probably have it forever!
Fantastic look Jennifer you look wonderful! Please do a post on scarves. The one you are wearing is very special, love it. And the hats rock but l am too shy to carry it off, but wow!

Sending you a HUGE THANK YOU for showing boots. There are too many Bloggers who have one post with boots in December and then it is all bare ankles after that. Bare ankles are not an option from December to April for many of us….actually a recipe for frostbite. You look fabulous and perfectly dressed for Winter
And I want your scarf! 🙂
Love camel and black. When it rains, I always wear my camel trench which is also a raincoat, with my black sweater and pants, throw on my leopard boots and I feel ready for the rain. I can’t do hats because I have a small head and pixie cut too. I heard a requirement of an anchor woman on TV is having a big head. No kidding!
Eve: I have a very small head too. This means buying hats that actually Sized. You measure your head and choose your size by that measurement….not many companies do this anymore but there are some. Check out Conner Hats They have so many styles that something will suit you. connerhats.com
You look amazing, love the look, so classic. Your daughter has wonderful taste, the earrings are beautiful. The scarf is gorgeous. What a wonderful purchase. That is a scarf that you will always treasure. I can’t find hats like yours in black. I have a few summer styles very similar to your look that I love to wear. Hats are so much fun. You nailed your look.
I love camel and black. You look fabulous!
Lovely! You can certainly wear many different colors well, Jennifer. I have a medium gray coat that is similar except it’s single button breasted and I wear it often in Minnesota with navy clothing mostly. Scarves are a favorite of mine to wear and the one you are wearing is absolutely beautiful! A friend wears hats like yours, but I don’t know if I could pull it off. Thanks for the style look today!
By the way, how is your face healing from the treatment?
