It’s All In The Details
Happy Wednesday, ladies. Today I want to share an outfit I wore for an Instagram campaign for Chico’s. It’s loaded with details and unique pieces that are very different for me and so fun!
The cutwork blouse has full sleeves that aren’t overly puffy but do add some volume up top 🙂 If you had narrow shoulders and wider hips, this would draw the eye up and help balance your shape. The cutwork on the sleeves is very pretty, and the fabric is nice and crisp. It comes in sizes 4-22, I am wearing an 8.
I think these leather-tiered earrings are super fun. They’re very lightweight and swing when you move around. Mine are navy, and they also come in black here and brown here. I’ve long since given up on heavy earrings and love the big statement these make with so little weight :).
The jeans are wide-leg trouser-style in a very deep rinse they call chestnut. It’s not warm-toned, so I’m not sure why they called it that. I’ve always loved the uniqueness of a trouser shape in denim, and these did not disappoint. They come in petite and tall with a 31″ regular inseam and a 28″ petite inseam. I am wearing a 6 petite. The fabric is a cotton blend with spandex, so they have stretch.
Chico’s just recently added shoes to their collections and this is the cutest pair so far. These navy kid suede embroidered shoes are such a fun addition to any outfit. They come in whole and half sizes from 6-10 1/2. I ordered the 9 but think the 9 1/2 would have been better.
Funny story, when I opened the box, I thought this belt was a necklace. It has a similar shape and color as this howlight necklace I wore back in March…but it was so much heavier. Luckily, I decided to check the website because I would have looked pretty goofy wearing it around my neck.
I don’t usually wear this much detail at one time, so this was a fun outfit.
Do you like to wear lots of details in an outfit or are you more streamlined with your style?

I love the trousers, I personally would take out the contrasting stitching, to lengthen the look. I like the blouse , I would team it with white pants because it’s hot here. The accessories are nice but I like more classic styles.
Jennifer, the fit and style of this outfit on you is flattering. Like the blouse and trouser jeans enough to visit Chico’s tomorrow to try both on as I need to return something to Anthro. The wash of these jeans is perfect! The belt is a bit too southwestern for me but the earrings are adorable. Will probably bring a vintage silver chain belt I own to try on with. I am on the fence about the shoes as I prefer open toe sandals due to weather being too warm year round in SE Florida. I might add a light weight silver chain necklace with a small pendant to frame around the neck.
I like the way the wide leg jeans balance out the sleeves. You look great in this outfit. But streamlined is definitely my style so I would ditch the top, belt & shoes. I like the jeans, so would probably pair with a cotton gauze shirt or Breton top and flats or loafers.
Western wear touches are not my style. It’s a thing around these parts, but it’s not my thing.
I believe we should wear what we love and are comfortable in. Your look has beautiful pieces. The blouse would be my showpiece. My eyes stopped at the belt and again at the shoes. I would wear a navy or black (solid color) belt and the same for the shoe. So streamlining is my preference. It adds some height too.
I will try the pants next time I’m out shopping. The trouser look is appealing for denim.
