Merry Christmas and A Styling Gift
Merry Christmas to those of you who are celebrating! I hope you are spending yours with loved ones, making memories for the future. I want to thank you all for reading and being here. You generously share your wisdom and experience in the comment section which is a true gift – to me and to other readers. You’ve made this a supportive community of wise, kind women and I am so grateful.
I’d like to give 3 of my readers a styling gift. Simply leave a comment telling me what you’d like to see more of next year. I will choose at random and get in touch.
Thanks for making this blog what it is and have a Very Merry Christmas.

Happy Holidays! I love your blog, especially dressing room diaries. I like the fact that you explain your reasons behind liking or not liking products. And I really like the personal stories you share about travel, etc. keep up the good work, and Happy 2019!!
You are a wonderful advocate for women over 50 with your realistic fashion advice & real life discussions of obstacles we find ourselves facing. The surprise to me, upon discovering your blog, was how helpful & interesting your readers comments were. So Merry Christmas & A Happy & Healthy New Year to you Jennifer & all your faithful readers!
Happy New Year Holley, and welcome! I have the best readers in the world and I am so grateful for them.
Merry Christmas, Jennifer! I enjoy your blog very much. I would like to see additionall style and makeup tips for women over 6o who want to look current. I especially appreciate seeing clothing and products from Chicos and Macys. I also love to read about rving. Thank you!!!
Thanks, Lori. We’re just talking about getting on the road again…it’s been too long.
Merry Christmas! I enjoy your blog especially when you explain why something works or does not. I also enjoy the product review. Any budget ideas are always appreciated. Happy New Year!
Thanks for the ideas, Dee. Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas (a day late!) Hope you had a wonderful day! I love your blog and get inspiration from your advice and suggestions! I am in my 60’s and am always looking for ideas about skin care and make-up and fashion. I love your style, but to be perfectly honest, some of your recommendations are a little pricey for my budget. Any chance you could include some budget friendly ideas in the new year?
I will try to include more budget-friendly options, when possible. Happy New Year Linda
Merry Christmas – thank you for all of your great posts! I always love what you have to say in the Dressing Room Diaries. Would love tips for short, fine, thinning hair – and how to make your “work” wardrobe into your “retired” wardrobe. Looking forward to 2019 and lots of great tips from you !
Great ideas. Thanks and Happy New Year Ann
I am now just reading this post. I hope you are encouraged by all the comments! What a wonderful following you have! I learn a lot in what these other women have to say. So much wisdom to be shared & opportunities to find ways to age gracefully, stylishly, and in good health. As someone stated I feel a friendship with you but also feel enfolded with this group of women without having meet any of you. I love the way you address common topics that we all need help with. I would like to see posts about how to stay organized, maybe a closet reveal. How do you decide what to keep and what to purge? I love seeing an outfit done dressy and then tweeked to be more casual. I also would love to see DRD where you could include a brave different shaped friend. Keep up your fabulous blog! I always look forward to it each morning!!!
Great ideas Linda. My closet is rather unusual in this rental house but I think that might be fun. Happy New Year!

Hope you had a wonderful holiday with family1 Your blog has been very helpful in pushing me out of my boring comfort zone and getting a picture of how someone our age can still dress stylishly. I look forward to your style hints on how to deal with changes in our skin, hair and figures. Thanks for being my surrogate stylish sister/girlfriend!
I’m so glad you’re here Janet! Happy New Year
I love your blog, Jennifer! I enjoy your fashion posts, including the Dressing Room Diaries and Would You Wear It features, as well as glimpses into your life and the places you visit. You have pulled together a large following here and on Facebook. I’m wondering if there would be a way to occasionally feature different women; perhaps some of your readers… glimpses into the lives and closets of everyday women in different walks of life.
That’s an interesting idea, Elaine. I did feature other bloggers I knew, early on in my blog. I’ll think some more about this. Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas, Jennifer! I hope you’re having a wonderful holiday season with your family. To me, you are very relatable since we are close in age and of similar petite stature. Your Dressing Room Diaries are helpful to me, and I enjoy your casual style. I retired two years ago and am still struggling to find A more relaxed look. After 37 years of teaching, I still want all of the classic, tailored, and a bit dressy sweaters, blouses, and pants, but I have plenty of those and really need a more casual but still polished look that suits my body and new lifestyle!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday Barb. Several ladies are looking for ideas for transitioning their wardrobes so I will put some ideas together for you. Happy New Year
So many great tips you have given us. I saw an older post where you honestly gave suggestions to a woman who seeked out your expertise. I’d like to see more on proportions, balance, silhouette, etc. Every time one adds or subtracts one separate item, it throws off or enhances the overall image. Would like to see changes women have embraced regardless of age, health and lifestyle.
Great ideas Linda. We all have such unique challenges. Proportion is a great topic which I particularly love so I will incorporate more on it.
Thank you, Jennifer, for inspiring all of us! I look forward to your posts and appreciate your oftentimes brutal honesty. This pear-shaped girl would love some tips as I have not found a good blog for my body type. Kind regards.
Thanks for being here Denise. I am the opposite of pear shape and will try to add more suggestions for other body silhouettes. If I say I can wear light pants because it enlarges the look of my bottom half, know that the opposite is true for you and you will be flattered more by a dark bottom and light top.
A peak into your closet would be fun! How do you organize all of your beautiful clothes and accessories? Looking forward to more helpful insights from you in 2019!
Merry Christmas, Jennifer! First I want to tell you that you should always wear that luscious color of red of your velvet top in the photo above. You look stunning in that shade! I really love the variety of topics explored in your blog and hope that continues. I very much enjoyed the posts where you were out and about in your RV. I’d be interested in more budget-friendly clothing options since I’m retired and on a fixed income. Hope you have a very Happy New Year!
Hi Jennifer! Your blog is so enjoyable and helpful in many ways! I love the variety of yours posts and hope you continue it — I always wonder what you’ll be featuring or focusing on. Wishing you all the best for the new year!
Love dressing room diaries. It really helps that you explain why things work or don’t. Would like to see some budget friendly ideas. You’re look is classy and that’s what I want to be when I grow up. LOL I’m 64 years old.
Thanks Debi;) Happy New Year
I read your posts every day and you help me think about looking my best whenever I leave the house, not just for special occasions. I can tell that my husband appreciates it and I like being a well-dressed grandma! Please continue with the dressing room diaries. They are very helpful. Happy New Year!
I love seeing your name in my inbox and click over right away to read your newest post. I’ve learned so much from you and now put more thought into how I dress than I ever have. As a fellow blogger, I’d enjoy hearing your backstory of deciding to blog full-time, what a typical day is like for you, and even how you became internet-savvy in the first place.
Everything is self-taught by googling and reading. I think it is helping keep my brain agile. The decision to go full time was just nature taking its course and me loving what I was doing.
Thanks Jennifer for your reply! I so agree about how blogging helps to keep our brains agile… always learning something new, whether we want to at that moment or not. ???? You do such a great job at it… your site is lovely and always professional.
“Would You Wear It?” is my favorite thing (and on Pam’s blog, too.) I like “Dressing Room Diaries” because we get to see how things look on a real person and not a seven-foot-tall model with no bust (or hips, for that matter.) What I’d like to see is more discussion of footwear. Comfort is everything now, but I don’t like wearing sneakers all the time.
Footwear is near and dear to my heart. The older I get the more uncomfortable my feet get so I will be sharing the comfortable ones I find.
I love your blog. I would love to see you restyle pieces you own. I would also like to see more on styling work to casual looks. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
