Weekend Reading 11.15.25
Happy weekend, ladies. We’ve got a busy one planned, which includes a short road trip and hopefully some downtime.

Bestsellers this week:
- Ruggable rugs! You could have knocked me over with a feather when I saw how many of you bought new washable rugs for your home!! Perhaps I should be a home blogger? Mine is very flat with a rubber backing so it doesn’t shift and is not a tripping hazard.
- You ladies must have the holidays in mine because velvet was a big seller this week. I spotted this shirt on my last trip through the store, and several of you have purchased it. This Talbots velvet button up was also a huge bestseller.
- My Barn Jacket is also on its way to quite a few readers. I love the way mine straddles the line between rustic and elevated.
- Several ladies also bought this plaid coat, which intrigues me!
Highlights from the weekend sales:
JENNI KANE biggest event of the season is on with 25% off almost everything.
TALBOTS has a sale this weekend, but I’m writing this email on Friday, so I don’t know the particulars, but I know it will be a good one.
SAKS OFF 5TH has an extra 25% off your $200 purchase for a total savings of up to 85%!
NORDSTROM has its Black Friday Sale on with lots of discounts. My favorite Eileen Fisher stretch pants are marked way down in lots of colors. There are also great deals on cashmere, which always makes a welcome gift.
KEDS has a flash weekend sale with up to 50% off. I don’t think these are marked down, but how cute would this pair be with a velvet button-down and a pair of jeans? They’re also in their bridal collection…how fun is that?
NORDSTROM RACK has lots of great gifts marked way down…because it’s the Rack:)
FREDA SALVADOR has 25% off their rain or shine boots. I wore my Vionic booties in the rain yesterday, and my feet got drenched, so I’m on the hunt for ones that will keep my feet dry.
RITUAL BLACK FRIDAY sale is on, and you can save 40% off sitewide! I know many of you love their probiotics too.

You feature cashmere sweaters from several sellers on your posts. Can you tell a difference between them? I only have one Quince cashmere sweater and after a few wearings it has started pilling in the armpit area. Is that typical or are other brands different?
They all pill eventually. I find some of the less expensive ones pill faster.
I discovered Ruggables last year and they are great! We have two outside on our balcony and one inside in our family room. At the end of the season, I throw them in the washer, let them dry, roll them up for the winter and they look brand new in the spring! Fabulous! (Which reminds me, I’d better put them in the wash tomorrow, they are predicting snow tomorrow night in the Finger Lakes (NY)! Yikes!
I love the idea of using them on a balcony. Being able to wash them is such a win!
It is SO easy. They DO fit in the washer and ours is a regular size washer.
I know you like brooches and others here may as well so….check out Anthropologie. Big collection, a lot of variety.
Now, I’ve got to go get that washable rug! 😁
Have a lovely weekend….
I haven’t looked there. Thanks Linda.
The weather is still warm, windy and sunny here. Your rain may hit us on Sunday evening or Monday. We are hoping to get it as it is dangerously dry here in Colorado. Our big Friendsgiving dinner party is Sunday afternoon given by our HOA Social Committee. It will be casual, noisy fun with good food. It is too warm for my green velveteen jeans! We are 20 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year! It is expected to be 78 degrees Sunday. Might as well get some linen out of storage to wear. Comfort is first for me at 80!
Wow that is warm! Have fun! I’m with you on comfort.
Happy Saturday! Tonight my husband and I are going to his brother’s 50th wedding anniversary surprise party. 🥳🎉
The years go by so quickly. I’m grateful to be here, healthy, and still very active. I appreciate that while you share fashion ideas, you also focus on self care.
Hope you and everyone have a wonderful weekend.
Have fun!! That sounds amazing.
Good morning….here is a suggestion for a topic to blog. Since some us do less of the fancy party stuff but have nice dress up stuff for the occasional event (may have a velvet shirt, etc). Layering and texture is also very big in clothing that maybe you might have some suggestions so people get more wear out of there items and incorporate stuff into there rotation through out the winter season.
Great idea Robin!
Hi Jennifer
Next time you’re in Vancouver check out Vessi shoes. Nice styles and their walking/ travel shoes are all waterproof.
I’ve not heard of them! Thanks
