Would You Wear It -2022 Edition

Happy, Happy New Year, ladies! I’m starting off 2022 full of optimism and fresh ideas. My husband is starting it with a nasty head cold which I am valiantly trying to avoid. We’re running our air purifier nonstop and I am downing 1/2 teaspoon of this Wellness Herbal Resistance Liquid every few hours. The taste is truly gag-worthy, but I swear by it:)

It’s time for would you wear it so grab a cup of your favorite coffee or tea and let’s have some fun with fashion. Each Saturday my friend Pam and I share a mannequin we’ve photographed and ask if you would wear what it’s modeling.

I absolutely love the outfit and I would definitely wear all of the pieces including the jewelry!

  2. Leslie Greaves Radloff says:

Sweater with bureau neck and 3/4 fur sleeves would be neither practical nor becoming on me. And I’d be cold. It does however, hark back to Dior early 50s look and has an elegance to it that was missing in many of the NYE apparel seen last night I, too, like the Faire Isle sweater, both design and color. The pattern on the sleeves matches at the seam something not always seen in mass-manufactured sportswear. However, the wool content is 5% and it would not keep me warm even with CuddleDuds underneath.

    1. It reminds me of the early 50’s glamorous looks, too.I sure wish there was a place to wear things that this in my life. Hopefully soon.

  3. No, although I think it is tres chic. I (sometimes) wish I lived in a climate that allowed my lower arms to freeze, but alas, this is beyond impractical. Same with all these “high-water” pants everyone else seems to embrace. Everything flesh needs to be covered in winter here. Sigh.

I like everything about this outfit except the fur cuffs on the sweater, I am always cold and would need to wear a jacket – given their size, I think the cuffs would be hard to fit underneath something else or be lumpy. However, sans cuffs, this is a outfit I could easily dress up with a colorful scarf or fun necklace. I like to wear all black under a multicolored jacket or another colour like red, pink or purple. It would look great with boots in any colour. Black patent would be my first choice.

    Happy New Year!

    1. Happy New Year. Yes, this would need a cape, rather than a coat with sleeves.

  5. I would wear that outfit but I am not sure where! I am retired and with covid we don’t go anywhere. I have not need for nice clothes. Thanks for your blog and a happy healthy New Year.

    1. Happy New Year, Rory

  6. Peggy West says:

I am afraid to wear faux fur. Remember in the days gone by when activists would throw a can of paint on you if you wore fur? Anyway, the faux fur sleeves would hit me in the wrong place. The rest of the outfit is great. I love what they have done with the jewelry.

  7. Pamela Over 50 Feeling 40 says:

Actually if this outfit was in a better color for me, I would so wear! Love it!

    1. This would be fabulous on you, Pam

  8. The sweater is cute and does not need necklaces. However, it screams NYE or holiday party to me. I can’t imagine wearing it anywhere else. For that reason I wouldn’t buy it. I’m getting pickier with my closet space. Happy 2022!!

  9. Lynne A Johnson says:

I like the way the mannequin looks. But I could not add that much visual bulk to that area of my body. The gold jewelry brings sparkle up to the face which is nice. But the chains bring a lot of heaviness. I’m too short to carry this off. I’d look very stubby. I choose finer gauge sweaters and no extra fabric adding bulk. I also choose jewelry that doesn’t add visual weight. I see this looking very elegant on a tall person.

  10. Lol…I’ll stick with the Schramberg..my favorite…
Love your blog, and a speedy recovery for the Mr.
Actually I like the sweater, anything boat neck I can wear.
    Mrs.Howell? like Gilligans Island?..bring on the bubbly…

    1. Yes, yes, yes!! Very Mrs. Howell. I love that reference

  11. Happy New Year! I hope you don’t catch the cold. I would not wear the sweater. The sleeves are just too big and boxy for my taste. I love the faire isle teal one, though.

  12. Happy New Year, Jennifer!

I really like the look, although I am too small to be able to pull off the sweater. I think it’s elegant looking and should be paired with tailored wool pants in the same shade of blue, I also really like the necklaces with it A beautiful outfit for someone who is taller and has places like a dinner out to go to. I’ll stay at home in my joggers and casual sweaters.

Take care, and I hope your husband’s cold goes away soon.

  13. I couldn’t wear this because it has a boat neck which I don’t like and the fur on the sleeves would just end up dipped in something or knocking something over. I’m not good with big wide sleeves. The top would cup right under my stomach. The pants are okay but I still like full length pants best,

  14. Happy New Year to you and your family. I hope that the cold is over quickly and you don’t catch it. People tend to look at you funny if there is any sign of sickness. I found that with allergies this year.
I would certainly wear that outfit if I had somewhere to wear it. The pants are perfect. I would change out the necklaces to a cool toned statement one, I am thinking of one of my large enamel and jewel ones.

    1. You’re right! If I sneeze under my mask, everyone’s head swivels my way!

  15. This is the best styled mannequin I’ve seen in quite a while – to my eye. Yes, I could wear it but I have nowhere to go wearing fur cuffs! The color is perfect but the boat neck is not the most flattering on me due to my long neck. That fair isle sweater is beautiful but too warm for my climate. I hope you can avoid your husband’s cold. Happy New Year, Jennifer!

    1. Thanks, Terry, Happy New Year!

  16. Paulette Levy says:

HappyNew Year! Let’s hope 2022 us a great year. HOPE! I love this outfit! I’d wear it out naturally- to dinner, to a festive winter house party ( sadly we aren’t doing much of that with covid surging) or when entertaining here. I see it as in my best color range and it looks flattering! Really love this! Hope your hubby heals up quickly!

    1. Thanks, Paulette. Happy New Year

  17. Sharon Steinhoff Smith says:

That sweater has Mrs. Howell all over it. No thanks.

    1. Yes, it does! You made me laugh.

  18. love those slippers Happy New Year

  19. I would wear the sweater with the fur.
With different colored jeans or leggings in a check or plaid to complement the sweater.
The model looks like she is pregnant, but I think it is the way she is standing.
I think it could be a cool outfit.
Happy 2022 to you and your family.

    1. Happy New Year, Lin!

  20. There is no way I would wear this sweater. Do you see how thin the sleeves make the mannequin look? That’s how I would look. Just can’t wear anything like that. I like the jeans though and the jewelry is nice, but I wouldn’t wear them all together. Hope your husband feels better and you take care of yourself!

    1. Funny, I have very thin arms and that’s the first thing I noticed! I like the overall look of this outfit but I’m afraid the dark colors would overwhelm me.

    2. Thanks Rose, Happy New Year
