Would You Wear It -2022 Edition
Happy, Happy New Year, ladies! I’m starting off 2022 full of optimism and fresh ideas. My husband is starting it with a nasty head cold which I am valiantly trying to avoid.
We’re running our air purifier nonstop and I am downing 1/2 teaspoon of this Wellness Herbal Resistance Liquid every few hours. The taste is truly gag-worthy, but I swear by it:)

It’s time for would you wear it so grab a cup of your favorite coffee or tea and let’s have some fun with fashion. Each Saturday my friend Pam and I share a mannequin we’ve photographed and ask if you would wear what it’s modeling.

What are your thoughts? Would you wear this outfit?

Now let’s go see what Pam’s mannequin is modeling on Over 50 Feeling 40
Thanks for reading ladies and remember to wear what makes you feel confident.

I would wear that sweater with dressy jeans. It doesn’t “pop” in that monochromatic look. I love the necklace and have considered purchasing.
Happy New Year ! Jennifer, and thanks for the many informative posts , and your sense of humour throughout. You cover an lot of what counts to us beautifully aging women.
I saw your Herbal Resistance Liquid and found a similar product at Comox Airport on Vancouver Island a few years ago, and have since purchased more on-line…
Cold Blaster…mouth and throat spray… another natural product. I spray under the tongue( sub-lingual) for maximum absorption, and the taste is not bad.
Gives me some assurance against colds around me.
Hope your guy feels better soon.
Since arriving home to the island from a ‘seniors ‘ Christmas in Edmonton, we are enjoying walking in the snowy neighbourhood , clearing the driveway & paths, and making sure that we did not pick up any unwanted bugs during our trip. Cheers!
I used to love stopping at Goose Spit on the way up to Comox. Such great memories, thanks for reminding me. Stay well and Happy New Year.
I would wear it in a heartbeat!!!!! I’m OLD, and having FUN WITH FASHION!!! Here in Texas we don’t get to wear fur much, so even a little is fun!!!!! Jeans ARE the new dress pants, so the combination is up to date. Take a chance , ladies, and have FUN!!!!!!!
I would wear it in a heartbeat too! My taste is changing this year and I need more fun with my clothes. Life is too short to always play it safe with fashion.
Both items are individually attractive. I think they look goofy together with boot cut jeans and the flared out sleeves.
Yes I would wear it. Love the color and the fit
Happy 2022 to you, Jennifer! Hope your husband is back to good health soon.
I love the sweater in the brown color which is available on the Chico’s website. It’s gorgeous.
I imagine I would wear it many times throughout the fall and winter.
Happy New Year, Beth!
I love the outfit and would definitely wear it. Fun outfit! I have never liked fair isle sweaters. The neckline is unflattering on women over 50.
Get your husband (& probably you) tested for Covid19. The symptoms of the Omicron variant can be similar to a cold . There is a monoclonal antibody treatment that can be helpful especially in early days after infection, but the new covid antiviral pills are in short supply. As older people, you two would be more at risk and more likely to be eligible for treatment. If vaccinated, you are less likely to need hospitalization from a breakthrough covid case. My niece & her husband have the Omicron variant right now (breakthrough cases) and both said it’s like a bad cold. It screwed up their Xmas holiday ski trip, but at least they’re not seriously ill.
I wouldn’t wear the outfit because it wouldn’t look good colorwise or shapewise on me.
I’m going to try and find some tests. They are sold out everywhere near us.
Happy New Year Jennifer🎉🎉🎊🎊 sorry your hubby is under the weather. Hopefully it will run its course quickly and he will be feeling better real soon. Not crazy about the outfit in today’s blog..looks old fashioned, maybe it’s just me..anyway have a great day 🥰
Thanks, Dianne. Happy New Year
Happy New Year Jennifer!
The mannequin black outfit is “nice” but for me, not practical. The first thing my eyes went to was the tummy area when it lays a bit bulky. (I don’t need help in that area). The pants don’t seem dressy enough to go with the top. I can see those sleeves dragging through my plate of food. I agree with another lady that with Covid we are not going to parties and such so I wouldn’t buy it. I love the other sweater you tried on but we are having unseasonably warm weather here in Texas so it would hang with my other sweaters, unable to wear it.
Blessings to you and your family! I love your blogs, thank you for all you do!
Thank you, Vickie. Happiest New Year wishes to you as well.
I like the top and pants, but I don’t think I would look very good in it. I am short and not real thin. I definitely think a tall thin woman would look good in this outfit. Great for a holiday party.
Sorry your husband is sick. My husband had a very bad sore throat last month, he took a covid test and it was negative. Every time we get symptoms we take one of those rapid flow covid tests. His family down I Houston(12) all have covid over holiday because one of them was in a wedding, and exposed all of them at a weekend get together.
Our local pharmacies are all out of the home test. I’m glad your husband didn’t have it.
I’d try it on. I’m not sure about the cuffs. I think they would annoy me so I wouldn’t wear it often enough to buy it. But I would try it on. I tend to overlook things like that group of necklaces.
If I had a fun festive occasion to wear the sweater to I’d wear it in a minute. It’s perfect for our California weather. I usually don’t like boatnecks on me but the chains soften the line. I’d love the chains in silver as I’m not a gold girl. On a health note, I second heartily the Wellness product. I use the same brand but in their capsules not the pills. I haven’t tried the liquid. I made it through the holidays around my sick family including my husband and escaped the bugs. It’s not the first time it’s worked that well!!! Highly recommend to all my friends!!! Happy New Year!!!
I’m glad to know the capsules work! Maybe I can get my husband to take some.
I liked it. I am tall and the sweater would add more interest and break up the tallness. The outfit adds just the right amount glam without being over the top. Boat neck is great. I agree it’s a once a year outfit.
I like it’s glam appeal too
Interesting look. I like the top, quite retro, the jeans with the top not so much. I see the top with a nicer pair of dressy pants or faux leather leggings and sparkly heels. Going for more if a party look.
Take care, happy new year.
Penny, I love your idea for the pants!!! Faux leather leggings or joggers would be great!!! My only issue with the leggings would be the length of the sweater and covering my bum. The joggers aren’t as tight and would work.
I like the outfit, and would try it. I think it would work for me. The sleeves might be a bit annoying, but they are charming.
Happy New Year Penny
Happy New Year Jennifer! Stay well! I like the sweater and the slacks and the jewelry just none of it together. The sweater would be better I think with sleeker pants. The jewelry seems too much with those fur cuffs. Just my opinion. Honestly it’s hard to imagine where I would where this anymore since we are so curtailed on events?? Praying for a healthier joyful and more “normal” year! Thanks for all the great info you bring us!
I am praying things open up more soon, too. This has gone on so long!
The sweater has a retro vibe, but the bell sleeves seem too full and impractical. I would have to wear a thin turtleneck or layer beneath it, because this is winter, people! (I am currently wearing leggings under my jeans, wool socks, and a turtleneck under my turtleneck fleece, with a quilted vest over that.)
The length of the sweater is also not flattering.
On the plus side, the bell of the sleeves draw the eye to the waist.
I have never shopped at Chico’s.
Stay warm! 🙂
I love your ideas and suggestions. I hear the challenges of those posting, the biggest one for me is we live in Florida, so most of the winter clothes aren’t a good match. I do make notes of the clothes you show and the idea that strikes me and save them in my computer then keep an eye out for lighter weight options. It may mean being a little creative, but that’s the fun of it. I love the look of the dark blue sweater with the fur cuffs, but it’s in the mid to high 80s often around the holidays and much of winter. It did put me on the idea of looking for a dark blue top and black jeans and dress slacks; by adding a little bling with jewelry or to be on the lookout for a scarf to blend the blue, and black. Thanks for the many opportunities to look at clothes with the eye of possibilities.
Happy New Year, Rhonda. Right about now, warm weather is pretty appealing.
I LOVE the outfit and would definitely wear it if I had somewhere to wear it to – which I don’t!
I sure wish we did have somewhere to wear fancy things. I miss getting dressed up
Like the pants but not the fur lined sleeves on this mannequin; jewelry is pretty & I like the boatneck style but not the length or poochy-ness near the tummy. I actually am lucky to have a flat belly and don’t want to make it look bigger — I live in an area where there are no real places to go ‘dressed up’ so would not buy or wear this and I agree with one other reviewer I’d have to have a jacket and the fur on the sleeves would make it impossible…
