5 Ways to Wear White Jeans In Winter
Do you live by the adage that you’re not supposed to wear white until after Memorial Day or after Labor Day? How about white jeans? I find that rule antiquated and believe that white jeans can be just as fabulous in the winter as they are in summer, depending on how you style them. Here are a few ways to wear white jeans in winter.
1-Choose The Right Fabric

Denim comes in varying weights, so in the winter, opt for thicker denim or twill fabrics which offer more warmth. Avoid summery, thin styles and chino type fabrics. These AG Farah Crop Bootcut white jeans are a bright white, opaque denim that feels substantial on. Heavier denim without stretch is often warmer than ones that include spandex.
2-Embrace Neutral Layers

Pair your white jeans with shades of beige, tan, and taupe for a tonal look. Here I sandwiched my white jeans between a taupe faux suede moto jacket and taupe suede booties. The low contrast keeps the white from jumping out at you. I added a stone colored tote bag and wool scarf that keeps things toasty and adds a bit of pattern.
3-What Footwear To Wear

What are the best shoes or footwear to wear with white jeans in the winter? Choose ankle booties, knee-high boots, or loafers in neutral tones to complement your white jeans. Waterproof options ensure practicality without sacrificing polish, especially in snowy or wet conditions.

Here I’ve paired my white jeans with a chocolate colored fleece top and chocolate brown booties. I topped it with a beige trench coat and neutral tote bag. This is a higher contrast than taupe and white, but still soft.

The straight leg of these white jeans is long enough to cover the top of the bootie so my socks don’t show. Loafers work with white jeans in milder climates, but when it’s cold, bare ankles are no fun.
4-Accessorize Thoughtfully

Oversized scarves, structured handbags, and statement jewelry can tie your outfit together. Here, I styled off-white wide leg jean for a higher contrast level with a structured black blazer and black booties. I added bold silver earrings, a black bag and a black & white leopard print scarf.

This winter outfit with white jeans is perfect for those who love a touch of drama. The ivory white is also a nice alternative to stark white.
5-Play With Texture

Mix chunky knits, suede footwear, and coats with your white jeans for a cozy yet chic outfit. Leather accents or textured accessories elevate the look, making it stylish and modern. Here I’ve combined a cashmere sweater, suede sneakers, and faux suede and shearling vest with my white jeans.

The darker the denim the more formal the jeans…however white is a different unicorn altogether. Styled intentionally, it can have an elegant vibe that works year round. Focus on cozy layers, thoughtful textures, and accessories to create looks that are chic, comfortable, and weather-appropriate.
Do you wear white jeans year round or reserve them for warm weather?

You mentioned Botox when referencing your other dermatologist. Can I ask what you get done? I’ve been considering it.
I get Botox lightly between my eyebrows for my squint lines. They’re also called the 11’s. I’ve done it for many years, just lightly so I can always smile and move my forehead.
You look great!!
Thanks so much
Your idea that texture is important with like colors not just beiges is great!
I never thought of it that way.
With all the snow and slush on the streets, it really seems impractical to wear white jeans – though I do think they look great. Maybe not the best for the upper Mid-west.
Love all the outfits, especially the tan/white and taupe/white. Love the Similar vest! A few years back I finally realized that rule was silly and I wear white all year round! We’re in a rural area, horse country and get some snow, but when we “go to town” I wear what I want! Praying for good results with your appt. Thank you for sharing; it’s a good reminder for us. Like you’ve mentioned in the past, sunbathing with baby oil as a teenager does catch up with us 🙁
Thanks Deby. I was silly enough to put iodine in my baby oil… thinking I could stain my skin!
We have snow and slush still here from all of our storms. It is better here today with dry sidewalks. My white jeans are packed away. I do have a pair of off white but haven’t worn them yet. Need to rethink that decision. All the cars are very dirty including ours. It is 26 today and sunny, too cold to wash the car. White just isn’t practical in winter here. I tried to find off white cords in my size, 12P but no luck. I missed the window of opportunity on sizes and color. I was able to get a pair of toasty brown. Now I need to get busy and shorten them as they are petite but two inches too long! I hope all is well with your biopsy. Our habits in the sun in our younger days are coming back to bite us.
