Merry Christmas and A Styling Gift

Merry Christmas to those of you who are celebrating! I hope you are spending yours with loved ones, making memories for the future. I want to thank you all for reading and being here. You generously share your wisdom and experience in the comment section which is a true gift – to me and to other readers. You’ve made this a supportive community of wise, kind women and I am so grateful.

I’d like to give 3 of my readers a styling gift. Simply leave a comment telling me what you’d like to see more of next year. I will choose at random and get in touch.

Thanks for making this blog what it is and have a Very Merry Christmas.

  1. Love reading your blog! Would love more ideas about dressing on a budget and also more makeup ideas. Maybe enlist a few friends who have different coloring and show clothes colors and makeup on them?

  2. Merry Christmas, Sweetie!! Love the DRD!!! I am guilty of trying on 5 outfits before I actually walk out the door!! When you post different ways to wear the same thing, I am inspired. Carry on, dear friend, carry on!!!

  3. I enjoy the photos and commentary of your travels. Merry Christmas and Happy 2019. You are doing a good job.

Merry Christmas! I’d like to learn how to convert my ‘work’ wardrobe into my new retirement lifestyle … which pieces can have new life, and what to add!

    Thanks!
    Jackie

  6. MERRY CHRISTMAS!! I agree with several comments that I would like to see everyday-wear around the house or travelling with our 5th wheel. I feel that I sometimes go too casual and well worn when it should be better. We need to look our best no matter whether home or elsewhere. I love your blog. Thank you!!

How thoughtful! I love your frank and humorous take on life and changes.
I would like to see another post on incontinence—stress and urge and how people are dealing with it, unexpected and uncontrollable gas slips, and of course the do’s and dont’s of fashion classics and trends!

  8. Merry Christmas!! I would enjoy reading more about your RV travels and what you are wearing. . Thank you for this blog! RV fashion!!

  9. Thank you for your wonderful blog! I am in my seventies but enjoy dressing both casual and up to date. I would also like to expand my wardrobe to include some casual dresses. When traveling I see so many women comfortably dressed in casual dresses which are not thigh high. I am not that tall 5’6 but it is hard to find knee length in washable fabrics.

  10. I’ve been following your blog for 2 years. I’ve learned a lot and enjoyed every post. You continually offer expert advice on so many of the details that are part of our lives and you’ve brought us together in an online community.

Btw, the hairdresser posting came on the very day I was in despair because I was on my way to my newish hairdresser who wasn’t getting it. Such timing! Since moving from Palo Alto to Santa Rosa two years ago, I cannot find one. I too have baby fine thinning hair. But I gave her one last try and she recommended a really great product: R&G Dry Shampoo Paste. It starts as a paste but as you work it in, it becomes a powder. $28 on Amazon. I am no longer a dinasaur using mousse. It’s my new great product.

Good morning and merry Christmas to you and your family from Vancouver BC.
Have been reading and loving your blog for a few years now. We are similar in size and I have fine hair like you so can relate.
    Keep doing what you do.
Love your fashion and travel posts. I like to think of myself as a stylish but casual grandma who must be comfortable lol.
Must get back to the turkey!!!!

  14. Love your column. Thank you – I have learned so much from you. I would like to see advice on buying pants and jeans that flatter women with muscular but large thighs and calves.

I’ve learned so much from your blog, nearly every day has an idea that I can take to heart. As I age, I’d like it to be more gracefully and stylishly. There’s nothing I’d change. Each blog seems to be about just what I’m thinking about and wow – there it is! Hair, skin care, wonderful clothing options – I am a plus sized lady so maybe more about how I can turn some of the options toward being fuller figured. Thanks for being there for us.
Merry Christmas and enjoy some holiday cheer and love.

  16. Merry Christmas! I enjoy your blog and how you explain why things work or don’t work. I don’t usually think too much about why it doesn’t work but it sure does help to avoid repeat mistakes!
    Enjoy your holiday!

  17. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I would love to see more semi-casual styles that would involve pants with elastic waists!

I absolutely love the velvet shirt on you today! I wish I had one just like it!

  18. Good Morning & Merry Christmas! Just sneaking a moment for myself. ????
What would I like to see more of? Hmmm
I’d love the itinerary & info on your trip to Japan. You touched on so many wonderful places and activities. Obviously, it was well researched and meticulously planned.
I love your posts on styling clothes to look best on our aging but still beautiful bodies. Your recent one on texture was an eye opener and I’m going to keep that in mind when making purchases.
I love your beauty and health posts.
You always look stylish even in casual attire. Hints on how to attain that level of stylishness in jeans or leggings would be helpful.
I just want to take the time to Thank You for being in my inbox in the morning. I always read and often comment, were others I just read and remain mostly mute. The fact that you respond, give feedback and answer any
questions provides a sort of friendship with your readers.
    Have a wonderful Christmas!

  19. Merry Christmas, Thanks Jennifer for your wise and witty words dealing with fashion, family and age related challenges. I love the dressing room diaries. Seeing the current collection on a real body often factors into whether I take a trip to the store or not. Please keep your blog active in the year to come.

  20. Accessorizing and color tips to help us bring life to our faces with use of color and texture, as you did in one recent post. Also skin care and use of minimal makeup for every day. Undergarments, especially comfortable bras!????
PS your blog is brilliant and I know the time and energy it must take. Thank you!!
